What makes Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) the most-watched TV show in the Philippines?

Since the start of the pandemic, many of us stays at home and rely ourselves on social networking sites and the television for entertainment and information. Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) is one of the most awaited Sunday show for every Filipinos. To prove that KMJS is certainly the most-watched TV show in the Philippines, I have conducted an online poll on March 25, 2021.

Out of 29 respondents, 48.1% (16) of them are female, 35.6% (11) are male, while 2.2 %(2) are considered non-binary. From the respondents, 63% (18) are ages 20-21 which is the majority. Meanwhile, 42% (12) , revealed that they watch Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) twice a month most specifically the popular segment "Gabi ng Lagim" which features paranormal expert Ed Caluag.

Majority of the respondents in the online poll had considered Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) as the "Most awaited show during Sunday", because of these reasons; it is interesting, it features different events, a true to life situation, it’s very entertaining with exciting contents. Moreover, many believes that KMJS is an informative show which covers a range of relevant topic, personalities, historical or interesting places, food, current news and even and ghost stories. This makes Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) garnered 85% (25) tagged by respondents as a mixed genre show.

KMJS itself features timely real-life stories that capture the interest of all the viewers. Each interesting topics depicts a more viewer centered concepts that aims to entertain, inform, and persuade the audience with factual information given by the experts, and unusual investigation of events. Even its host Jessica Soho, is very convincing making the show more interesting. Many of the respondents have said that her tone showcasing a good conviction creates a great impact on the narration of every story.

The impact of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) allows many of the respondents to explore, associate, and share their own opinion. Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho creates a passage for them to speak for their opinion in a certain issue. It enlightens many of those respondents, looking at every side of each issue creating a more sociable and interactional conversation amidst the pandemic. Watching Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho every Sunday Night is indeed a routine for each one of the respondents.

Almost all of the respondents, rely on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) in every information on making more inspiring and unique stories that touches the heart of every Filipino and that is what they are looking forward to more episodes of the show.

CROWDSOURCING| N**e Painting: Art or Po*******hy?

N**e painting negative impression and cancellation in the art community is one of the pertinent problems artists face up to this date. Seen as immoral and pornographic rather than an art of beautiful anatomy and harmony of figures. In a Philippine context, based on observations people in ages refused to see nudity in painting as an art. Living in a patriarchal society with a conservative culture showing off a skin is obscenity thus nudity doesn’t translates as a subject to sexual desire and immoral acts.

To determined whether nudity in painting is an art or po*******hy and identify perceptions of people toward n**e painting, an online crowdsourcing activity was conducted last May 31, Monday. A total number of 215 participants composed of artist and non-artist joined the activity and share their perceptions about the topic.

According to Busha and Harter (1980), a populations is a set of people or object with atleast common interest. The survey we’re shared on the personal account of the interviewer and art groups that has different audiences, artists in different mediums and forms from the community , supporting friends of local art scene have answered the survey.

This study revealed that 124 (57. 2%) of the participants are female and the 91 (42.8%) are male. Majority of the respondents (15.3) ages were between 20 and 23 years old, generation Z whose believed that are social, visual and most educated. Respectively, looking forward for good insights despite of other generations ideas.

Mostly who took up the survey are artists with a percentage of 78.6% (169) , visual and performing. The remaining 19.5% (42) are non-artist, and others answered that they are self-taught artist, art enthusiasts which still considered as artist. Gender affects perspective on how people will look the societal roles and interaction. Among them are 55.3% cisgender, 13.5% non-binary ,8% are genderfluid and the rest of genders. Being shown in the results, cisgender had a high interest in arts.

Everyone had a different definition of art, 55.3% a representation of 119 believes that is self expression, a percentage of 20.5% or 44 participants said art is passion and a 14% (30) clearly sees art as life. Art is a universal language to anyone that could be seen as expression or a way of living to some. Other said its their hobby, something that could save them from pain or its just everything.

82.8% or 178 chosen nudity in painting as an form of art and not a immoral or malicious representation of body parts. This indicates a large number of respondents had seen nudity in painting as a form of art because the human body offers a more satisfying harmony of related forms which underlying in the principle of art (Dogbe,1977). Perhaps this also show that they also understand the definition of nudity.

A huge number of respondents about 172 ( 80.1%) shows that po*******hy has gotten negative impact on the viewer, in the sense that, po*******hy could arouse the viewer sexually. Po*******hy been a form of art indicates that it can be use as a study object in order to learn the anatomical structure of the human figure as it deals with bareness of the person. Thus because of culture, it could easily indicate that it is obscene and promotes sexual intent. However 99.1% of the survey says that po*******hy in painting helps in harmony and understanding body figures. The remaining percentage clearly states that there is only one or two who see po*******hy as stimulation of sexual desire.

94% of the total population answered they know the difference between pornographic image and n**e image, I presumed they understand its holistic idea. N**e images are favorite subject since 19th century it could be seen in painting, sculptures and photography a practice to depict gods and goddess In ancient. Since they were deities it was natural for them to paint with none or little clothes. Thus, po*******hy is a depiction of the human body for the purpose of erotic and sexual arousal.

A respondent messaged me, he argued that my questions are misleading and let him to present his sentiments. His right, n**e image could be used according to its purpose and in this activity I present n**e painting is an art, the context.

Explanatory questions had been asked separately for the artist and non-artist, not all answers will be mentioned but only those whose catchy and significant. “I feel connected with my passion and life. For me, drawing or making a n**e sketch is more than seeing an unclothed I see it formalistically. The human body is one of the most complex yet prevalent figures in life and it's always very satisfying to achieve the look, texture, and realism you set out to capture.body.“, “I am able to appreciate more of what exist within me and within others“. Hearing this from the artists made me feel to respect and adore them more. It is a magical feeling to be creative and imaginative in the middle of chaotic world.

Meanwhile, non-artist states how they feel seeing n**e paintings, “i'm not an artist yet, though may interest po ako sa arts. Ang nafi-feel ko when i see a n**e painting ay it depicts meaning. Kung anuman ang nilarawan ng artist, may kabuluhan o pagkakahulugan ang mga ito, hindi ito bastos dahil nagpapahiwatig ito ng kaniyang expresyon o iba pang uri.“ It is outstanding for me, this person already had the fire within himself to have the courage to express his/ her desire. To this respondent, if you’ll read this, take this from me take art in your life it could save you multiple
times, don’t aim for popularity focus on your excellence and skills, success will come to your way.

Art consoles the uncomfortable and disturb the comfortable, if you‘re able to feel this in a certain artwork then you’re looking into a masterpiece made by the heart.

CROWDSOURCING | "Are you satisfied with the teaching staff behavior and their teaching methods?"

The global outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in human history, affecting nearly 1.6 billion learners in more than 200 countries. Closures of schools, institutions and other learning spaces have impacted more than 94% of the world’s student population.

E-learning tools have played a crucial role during this pandemic, helping schools and universities facilitate student learning during the closure of universities and schools. While adapting to the new changes, staff and student readiness needs to be gauged and supported accordingly. The learners with a fixed mindset find it difficult to adapt and adjust, whereas the learners with a growth mindset quickly adapt to a new learning environment.

Today, online platforms teaching methods used so far include unified communication and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom which allow the teachers to create educational courses, training and skill development programmes. They also include options of workplace chat, video meeting and file storage that keep classes organized and easy to work. They usually support the sharing of a variety of content like Word, PDF, Excel file, audio, videos and many more but these platforms still don't work for other students specifically to those students do not have access to smartphones or TV at home in addition to poor Internet connectivity.

Based on the online survey that I conducted, out of 51 or (98.1%) respondents, 40 college students said that they're not satisfied with the teaching staff behavior and the teaching methods which means online instruction has negatively impacted their ability to learn due to different challenges such as; poor connection, can't paid to access mobile data, students at home/living space have undergone psychological, emotional, distress, and have been unable to engage productively.

Furthermore, there were still 11 students said that they're satisfied with the teaching staff behavior and the teaching methods, which olny means they preferred flexible learning, they're in favor with this new normal which still have advantages for them such as; efficiency, accessibility of time and place, affordability, and suites a variety of learning styles.

Majority of students do not have access to smartphones or TV at home in addition to poor Internet connectivity. This survey shows student experiences during the fall semester and the coronavirus pandemic that found stress, anxiety and loneliness were their overriding concern. The data are representative of the real-life challenges and uncertainty that students say they face.

Moreover, the respondents frequently alluded to mental health challenges they're experiencing due to not satisfying teaching methods.

CROWDSOURCING "Online shopping: Is it Worth the Trend?"

The constant progress of today's technology can be seen in this generation. One explanation is how we frequently purchase items online. Online shopping have certainly became a trend; no one can deny that they are familiar with it. Both suppliers and customers benefit from virtual shopping.

According to a recent study titled, How Many People Shop Online in 2021? (2021), the number of digital buyers is predicted to reach 2.14 billion in 2021 as e-commerce expands. This represents 27.6% of the global population of 7.74 billion people. To put it another way, you'll notice that more than one out of every four users is an online shopper. The number of Internet shoppers has surged in recent years. In 2021, there were 900 million more digital customers than in 2020, a 4.4 percent increase year over year. In the midst of the pandemic, online shops provided a means for us to sit back and shop electronically.

Based on an online survey I conducted entitled "Online shopping: Is it Worth the Trend?" 78 out of 80 Filipinos (or 97.5 percent) stated that they are indeed an online shopper. In addition, 52.5 percent of respondents prefer to utilize both popular online applications in the Philippines - Shopee and Lazada.

Furthermore, 59 respondents said they spend 30 minutes to an hour utilizing online shopping apps, and 56 said they shop online 1-3 times a month because they feel satisfaction in purchasing online.

Clothes (38.8%) are the items that buyers usually purchase online and 55% of the respondents said that they considered buying online because it is very convenient especially in today's pandemic times where most markets are closed and not accessible.

However, despite the continued rise in online shoppers, 83.8 percent of respondents (67) indicated that they are responsible consumers who are not addicted to buying online.

Nevertheless, 53.8 percent stated that they weren't sure if the things they ordered are safe in the middle of the pandemic, 43.8 percent claimed it was safe, and 2% said it wasn't.

On the whole, more and more people shop online because it is accessible and convenient but we must not forget the welfare and assurance of our safety. It is fun to add to cart but buyers must shop wisely.

CROWDSOURCING | Filipino Citizens' response to Duterte Administration's War on Drugs

War on Drugs of President Rodrigo Duterte is not effective for the 54.5% of Filipino citizens who respond to a survey conducted last May 25, 2021. Some of the respondents claimed that it is a human rights violation.

54.4% of the respondents ages 18-39 years old stated that President Duterte is not a good president for our country, meanwhile, 45.5% from the respondents says he is a good president. 63.6% say that the War on Drugs killed drug abusers and 54.5% say that War on Drugs helps our fellow citizens while 36.4 says not.

63.6% of the respondents disagree with the Oplan Tokhang because some say that “there a lot of Filipino citizens that were killed just because they look like drug addicts” and “it's against the human rights and sanctity of life”
54.5% say that “this program is not effective” and 54.5% disagree with killing criminals and drug addicts if they fight with the police and some say “If there's no other option. Cops should only use their guns”.

100% of the respondents agree on the government' # SiPag program for drug surrenderees. 36.4% who rate 5 as the highest as effective then 36.4% rate for 4 and 27.3% for 3.

Some of the Respondents exclaimed, “Start on eliminating the big-time drug abusers before small drug abusers”.

“I don't personally disagree with the War on Drugs Campaign. The idea itself may be good and effective if the government has a concrete plan on how to stop drug users and pushers. Not to mention, there were a lot of killings of innocent lives, without having any evidence, just killed like an animal”.

“This campaign may be the solution but some people used this to kill innocent people because of money”.

“Bigyan ng oportunidad na magkaroon ng mga trabaho ang mamamayang nasa laylayan. Sapagkat halos lahat ng mga sangkot sa illegal na droga ay walang sapat na trabaho”.
“Information campaign and rehabilitation for drug users”

“I disagree with the killings but I do agree that drug pushers should be detained in jail”.
“The best way to resolve the problem is the proper way of communication between the family and our community to help resolve the problem. and the awareness of such individuals involving drugs to educate them that it could destroy their life and encourage each to have faith in God most above all”.
“Detain anyone engaged with drugs but don't kill anyone”.

“Arrest the big drug users and dealers, Filipino or other nationalities to stop the process of drug dealing”.

“I think the leader must first possess being a good leader to be followed by his followers”.

These responses provided the perception of Filipino citizens with the ongoing drug war. Concluding that this measure is not a total solution in the problem of drugs that is pervasive in the country.
