The NZ media does its best to cover every single news issue. But even the largest media outlets cannot get to every newsworthy event on time. They do not have the budgets to employ 24 hour work rosters to their reporters and camera operators. The NZ media does not have April O’Neils, Nightcrawlers, or Vicky Vales driving around in GMC vans or Honda Accords hunting for news. Visual Media Production

s. My name is Sam and I am the founder of Visual Media Productions (VMP). I’ve been a source of breaking news for the NZ media for a while now and they trust me to send them, the best news first. I am a reliable source that is trusted by Māori Television, Newshub, Stuff.co.nz and TVNZ’s One News. I’ve also worked for the Australian Associated Press as their NZ videographer. But enough about me and VMP. Those in the know are already hiring us. The next question is, how can VMP help you? Contact us today for a free no-obligation quote. [email protected]

More than 20 homes were plunged into darkness two nights in a row due to recent Powerline tampering in Christchurch.

Recent incidents have hit areas close to schools, preschools, recreational facilities and residential streets.

Police are asking members of the public who see suspicious activity around powerlines to report information to Police as soon as possible with as much information as possible.

Senior Sergeant Roy Appley says: “Fortunately no one has been injured at this stage, however Police remain concerned it is only a matter of time.”

Tampering with powerlines places yourself and members of the public at risk of electrocution for a small return,” Senior Sergeant Appley says.

Power outages can also have devastating effects, especially for those in assisted living situations, such as those on life support or assisted breathing machines.

If you see any suspicious activity around Powerlines please contact Police on 111 if it happening now or 105 if it’s after the fact.

The video attached shows recent powerline tampering incidents, including the noise made during a recent incident and an example of equipment used, a long pole with a grinder attached to the end, if you hear this, or see similar equipment please contact Police.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing and the Serious Crash Unit are conducting a scene examination.

The road remains closed in both directions, but diversions are in place at nearby on/off ramps

Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on the Waikato Expressway, Hampton Downs reported around 12:05pm.

Two vehicles are believed to have been involved.

Today and tomorrow are set to be scorchers which means it will be an Extreme Fire Danger day!

So drop the tools during the heat of the day (mid morning through to late evening).

A single spark can cause a devastating wildfire.

Yesterday 2 separate fires were caused by mowers. These fires weren't large in scale but tied up resources for a couple of hours.

Please also avoid lighting any fires today and tomorrow, even approved fire types and check on any previous fires you've had to make sure they are fully extinguished.
