We're beyond excited for the launch of our latest documentary ADHD: Not Just Hyper, airing tonight on TVNZ 1 and TVNZ+!

"ADHD: Not Just Hyper" is an insightful, honest, thoughtful, and optimistic documentary that aims to reframe our view of ADHD in New Zealand, going inside the lives of a diverse range of Kiwi’s living with ADHD.

It will debunk the myths, find the truths, explore the science, observe the experience, witness the challenges, and celebrate the triumphs, discovering what ADHD really is, how it presents differently according to gender, and how our social systems are not designed for the complexity of the ADHD brain.

A huge thank you to all involved in bringing this documentary together - and to our partners in NZ On Air and TVNZ!

We are gutted to learn that StarJam, a charity for children with disabilities, has closed due to “rising operational expenses and limited funding options.”

StarJam has filled an essential role providing creative workshops, social outlets and creative opportunities for young people living with disabilities. It has been a place where friendships were made and talents explored.

Over the years Attitude has been proud to partner with Starjam through the Attitude Awards. When you are part of this community, or raise a child who lives with a disability - you truly appreciate how vital organisations like Starjam are.

Currently a number of disability charities are facing headwinds and financial difficulties - we ask that if you are in the position to, you support these organisations.

Lastly, a huge thank you to all those who have been a part of the StarJam family and wider community; the work and impact you have made is enormous

Attitude has produced content around disability for more than 20 years. We like to applaud businesses that recognise their ability to make a difference.

Our new series Four Go Flatting (screening on TVNZ+) gives four young adult men with intellectual impairments an opportunity to experience flatting. Many families with adult men and women struggle to know how to create the independent life their sons and daughters crave. There are families in New Zealand who have moved out of their homes… to create a flatting scenario. Others have faced on-going discrimination when trying to secure a rental property.

Attitude acknowledges the team at Barfoot & Thompson for unreservedly supporting Attitude’s quest to support four young men to find a house where they could live independently for a period of 6 weeks.

Barfoot & Thompson championed the concept to the landlord, and we know that following on from this experience they will continue to champion the rights of people who live with disabilities, doing what they can, not just for these four men, but respecting and supporting others in the communities in which they operate.

When more businesses play a small part, lasting social change will come about

Four Go Flatting' Attitude's new entertaining, amusing and highly relatable series launches on TVNZ1 (7:30pm September 9) and will be streamed on TVNZ+.
'Four Go Flatting' follows the classic rite of passage of four young men (with intellectual disabilities) who are moving out of home to live independently... no parents, no rules.
Attitude joined Conor, Henry, Mitch, and Jesse for five weeks and captured the highs and lows of their newfound independence.
What could possibly go wrong?

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a monster day for Kiwis competing in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

It kicks off with William Stedman in the Men's T36 long jump...a 5am NZ start time but well worth getting up to catch coverage on TVNZ.

Will secured silver in the Kobe Para Athletics World Championships earlier this year.

Overnight medal success for Kiwi Paralympic cyclist Anna Taylor with a silver medal in
Women’s C4 3000m Individual Pursuit final.
Also in the velodrome, Paralympic debutant Devon Briggs raced despite a fractured sacrum and dislocated coccyx and only narrowly missed a place in the bronze medal race of the Men’s C3 3000m Individual Pursuit.

Grit and Glory tracks the endeavours of six elite Paralympians across two years as they strive to secure selection for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Attitude has followed Paralympic sport for more than 20 years as TVNZ’s content partner.
Our crews were trusted to go alongside Kiwi athletes Devon Briggs, Anna Grimaldi, Nicole Murray, Tupou Neiufi, Cameron Leslie and Mitch Joynt at training camps and world champs in France, Spain, Switzerland, Brazil and England.

Guy Williams is in denial that he may have ADHD, despite his sister Maria having an ADHD diagnosis. ADHD: Not Just Hyper will be airing December 16th on TV1 and will be avaliable on TVNZ+.

Hyper...it's a word commonly associated with ADHD, and it comes with all sorts of negative connotations. An estimated 8 - 10 percent of us are affected by it globally (regardless of ethnicity) so maybe it's time we moved past giving people a bad rap and tried to understand it a little better. In this Attitude documentary we meet ordinary Kiwis who have extraordinary insight into their diagnosis and themselves. This is the documentary that we will be talking about all summer!
