And after starting 4-0 Rohan experiences his first stumble. We have a NEW king of the hill going into Top 8! Matt Rogers goes undefeated through the Swiss to finish 1st and secure the all important choice to play throughout the Top 8!

Our King of the Hill saw Rohan Khanna defeat Mark Tung and move to 4-0 as he wins his pair down match in round 4!

Ash Singh (Katsu) vs Tom Penny (Dorinthea)
Ash won the roll and chose to start things off.
The first few turns saw Tom try to get his Dawnblade going. Ash was able to stop any counters from building but at the cost of putting together any big combo turns early and damage was still slipping through the cracks.
The stale-mate was broken with an Enlightened Strike from Tom calling go-again. Ash was forced to take it in order to continue to keep the Dawnblade down. Tom finished things up with a Sigil of Solace and no further attacks to leave the life totals at 42-27 in favour of Tom.
Ash went for a Leg Tap followed by Rising Knee Thrust which forced Tom to block with his Braveforge Bracers. But Ash has the Blackout Kick AND Razor Reflexes to follow them up. Evening out the life total as Tom dropped to 27 himself.
An Unmovable from arsenal looked to solidify the momentum for Ash but a crucial Rout allows Tom to push through damage and hit again with the Dawnblade, collecting its first counter for the game!
Ash had no follows up on his turn as the game quickly looks to start slipping away from him just as soon as he seemed to get a foot hold in it. The damage out-put from the Warrior’s weapon is outclassing the duel Kodachi’s this game.
However a key combo turn comes out of seemingly nowhere for Ash to strip Tom’s hand as he is forced to blocked. We hear an audible “I f**ked that up” from Tom as he is clearly upset with a block he made. A Mugenshi: RELEASE follows things up for Ash and hits! A huge turn for Ash and things look to have evened up, life totals are at 17-15 in favour of Tom.
The Kodachis enter the building as the chipping away begins!
But a Scar for a Scar out of arsenal without go-again is called from Tom... but with his last 2 cards he pitches and has Razor Reflexes! This gets him a crucial hit with the Dawnblade! Dropping Ash to 2 life.
He comes back with another huge turn consisting of double Kodachi, Plunder Run into Sn**ch and Fluster Fist but to no avail.
This has been a BATTLE 😵 Tom takes the match and moves to 3-1!

The Round 3 landscape!
Round 3 sees our current King of the Hill, Rohan Khanna face off against Nic Andisen in a classic Dash vs Katsu matchup that is becoming all to familiar this R2N season.
This was a close fought match and down to wire the whole way. But the consistency of Dash with the combination of Tecklo Plasma Pistol and Induction Chamber was again on full display.
The midrange build Rohan brought to the table allowed him to apply more pressure early to try control the hand of the Nic. Fate was on Rohan’s side as some timely defence reactions and well placed boosts allowed him to take the match!
And remain our King of the Hill 🤟🏼

For Round 1 we have our King of the Hill and reining Road to Nationals Champion Jacob Pearson vs Marshall Stevenson!
Jacob ran it back with Dash today while Marshall was on Kano and looking to fling some arcane damage around.
Hopes were short lived however as Jacob took out round 1 in short order to remain our King of the Hill 🤟🏼
Bring on Round 2!!!
