Mission Impossible: Shop burglar meets his creator after getting stuck while on duty in Ghana
Residents in Fadama area of Ghana, were treated to a g@ry scene of a burglar who passed away while on a sting operation.
According to a video shared on social media, the incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning, December 19. From the video, the man also referred to as ‘container-hijacker’ in local parlance, can be seen hanging on the burglary proof of a shop and it’s evident he d as he was about to exit the shop after looting it.
However, it is unclear as at the time of this report, if he d as a result of el£ctroc¥tion. It is reported that his c@rpse has been deposited at the morgue.

My administration has created over 13million jobs in agric sector — Pres. Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari says Nigeria’s agricultural revolution has created more than 13 million direct and indirect jobs in the past seven and a half years.

The president disclosed this on Friday, December 16, in Washington D.C, USA.

“This same scheme has financed the establishment and operations of our 50 integrated rice mills.

It has also financed over 4.5 million smallholder farmers, ensured the cultivation of almost 6 million hectares of farmland and almost 700 large-scale agricultural projects have been funded.

This Agricultural revolution has led to the creation of over 13m direct and indirect jobs.

The non-oil sector remains the future of our economy.

You will agree with me that the Russia-Ukraine w@r has compelled many economies to carry out reforms and re-adjust policies to cope with the challenges posed by the conflict,” he said.

End fuel scarcity in seven days — Reps order NNPC, others.

The House of Representatives has ordered the NNPC Limited and other regulatory agencies to end the lingering fuel scarcity in one week to ease the s¥ffering of Nigerians.

The legislators passed the resolution during a plenary session on December 13, following the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance, sponsored by Saidu Abdullahi from Niger state. Presenting the motion, he said in the last few months, Nigerians had been subjected to untold hardships caused by the lingering petrol scarcity, affecting economic activities and making the already trying times in the country more difficult.

According to him, “Intelligence reports on current fuel scarcity gathered by our security agencies indicated that there is a deliberate plan by some oil marketers to derail the effort of the government in the distribution of fuel in the country by hoarding the petroleum products, thereby creating artificial scarcity all over the country.

Skitmakers, bloggers, others must get approval for all digital adverts — ARCON.

The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has mandated skit makers, social media influencers, bloggers, among others to seek its approval before advertising any product or service online.

In a statement issued on Monday, December 12, the Director General, Dr Olalekan Fadolapo, said this is in line with the provisions of the Nigerian Code of Advertising Practice and the ARCON Act No. 23 of 2022. “ARCON has received complaints on the advertisement, advertising, and marketing communications activities of skit makers, comedians, influencers, content creators/producers, bloggers, vloggers etc on digital media platforms.

Most of the advertisements exposed by this group are not only unethical with unverified claims and misinformation, but also in violation of the Nigerian Code of Advertising Practice. By this public notice, brand owners, digital agencies, secondary digital media space owners.

At least three persons were k on Monday morning, December 12, as police repelled an att@ck on the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Owerri, Imo State.

It was gathered that the assailants started sh@ at the facility as early as around 2am and throwing locally made bombs, which razed some parts of the INEC headquarters before the Police intervention.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mike Abbatam, said three g¥nmen were k while two firebombs were recovered from the scene.

Olaolu Mudashiru, a co-founder and deputy managing director of one of Nigeria’s top capital management companies, Vetiva Capital, has passed on.
The businessman/investment banker was reportedly riding a bicycle with a group of cyclists when a car plowed into their bikes on Gerrard Road in the affluent neighborhood of Ikoyi, Lagos, and sped off, leaving them with very serious inj¥ries.
It is reported that Mr Mudashiru and the other two bikers were taken by ambulance to the Lagoon Hospital on Bourdillon Road in Ikoyi, where Mudashiru later passed away from head inj¥ries.
Mr Mudashiru earned his medical degree from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and his MBA from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. He was the late Air Commodore Gbolahan Mudashiru’s son, a former military official in charge of Lagos State.

75-year-old man arrested for d£filing his 4-year-old niece in Nasarawa
A 75-year-old man, Isa Nana Okpoku, has been arrested by police operatives attached to Obi Division, Nasarawa state for r@ping bus 4-year-old niece.
This is following a report lodged at the Divisional Police Headquarters on Saturday, December 10. According to the spokesperson of the command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the suspect and the victim both reside in the same house.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect lured his niece into his room and willfully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her. The victim was however, rushed to the hospital for medical examination where the medical doctor confirmed the h¥men is broken.

Man arrested for r@ping a lady with Down syndrome in Ogun State

A man identified as Kunle Abati, 29, has been arrested by men of Ogun state Police Command, for allegedly f%rcefully having carnal knowledge of a 27-year-old lady with Down syndrome.

The suspect, Kunle Abati, was arrested on the December 7, 2022, following the report lodged at Ilese ijebu divisional headquarters by the mother of the victim, who reported that she sent her daughter on an errand at about 7:30 am, but when she returned, she discovered bl@ stain on her cloth.

She further stated that when she asked her daughter about the bl@ on her cloth, she took her to the house of the suspect and explained that the suspect had carnal knowledge of her.

Upon the report, the DPO Ilese Ijebu, CSP Paul Omiwole, detailed his detectives to go after the suspect and he was subsequently arrested.

On interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime, adding that he equally capitalized on the health challenge of the lady to r@p£ her.

President Buhari set to depart Nigeria for the U.S. on Sunday, December 11.
President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Abuja on Sunday to Washington, United States, for the US-Africa Leaders Summit.
According to a statement on Saturday by Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, the high-level meeting would be held between December 13 and 15. Shehu said the meeting, which is at the instance of US President Joe Biden, seeks to work with “African governments, civil society, diaspora communities across the United States, and the private sector to continue strengthening our shared vision for the future of US-Africa relations”.
Shehu said the event “is expected to demonstrate the United States’ enduring commitment to Africa, and underscore the importance of US-Africa relations and increased cooperation on shared global priorities”.

We recovered over N120 billion from corrupt Nigerians. We’re using the money to… — FG.

The Nigerian government says it had realised at least N120 billion as proceeds from criminal financial operations since the Bill on Proceeds of Crime Recovery Management was signed into law earlier this year by President Buhari.

The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made the announcement at a news conference when the Minister of Environment presented the scorecard of the ministry under the Buhari administration in Abuja on Wednesday.

He disclosed that the proceeds are used to facilitate the completion of the 2nd Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Kano expressways. “I can confirm that so far, the Federal Government has realised over N120bn, among other currencies, from POCA. This money will be used to fund the completion of ongoing critical infrastructure projects in the country, like the Second Niger Bridge and the Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Kano expressways. We will continue to update you on this,” he said.

A yet-to-be identified woman has been arrested for causing commotion and inj¥ring actor Akeem Adeyemi at a movie location in Gbagada, Lagos.
According to a source, the incident happened on Tuesday, December 6. It is gathered that the building where Akeem Adeyemi and his crew members were shooting aa movie at, belongs to the suspect and her husband.

9 months after passengers were abd , FG resumes operations along the Abuja-Kaduna rail route.

After close to Ten months, the Federal government has resumed commercial activities on the Abuja-Kaduna rail route.

About a week ago, the Minister of Transportation, Ma’azu Sambo said while undergoing a readiness assessment inspection on the train facilities in Rigasa, Kaduna that the train would resume within a week. In furtherance with the pronouncement, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), on Sunday, announced the resumption of the service on Monday, December 5.

In a statement released at the Weekend, the Management of NRC said, “the Federal government through the Ministry of Transportation will resume the Abuja -Kaduna Passenger train service on Monday 5, December 2022.”

The statement said the service will commence with two return services between Abuja and Kaduna. Sambo had explained at the inspection that necessary security measures were put in place to secure lives and property on the rail route.

Freshers Rit¥al: The heartbreaking moment Unical male students hara§§ed a girl who didn’t want to participate

An 100-level student of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Cross River State, was recently publicly humili@ted and hara§§ed by her male colleagues.

The unfortunate incident occurred during the school’s matriculation ceremony on Friday, December 2, 2022.

It was gathered that there’s a rit¥al in the school where old students ‘bath’ the new students with water as a form of welcoming them into the school. However, the young girl didn’t want to participate in the so called rit¥al.

Instead of leaving her alone, seeing that she doesn’t want to participate, the group of male students forcefully and collectively continued to pour water on her while asking her if she “wanted to f¥ght.”

They hara§§ed her until her skirt fell off her waist in public, leaving her with only her panties on.
