In the name of love, a lot of people have been deceived, cheated on, abused, and hurt in several ways. As far as the truth goes, that is not real love.

The Bible let's us know that love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (1 Cor. 13:4-8a)

Join us this Saturday by 12pm for our LOVE FEAST hangout as we celebrate with the whole world the love of God towards us, in that He sent His only begotten son, born of a virgin and He would become through His death on the cross, the salvation of all men.

Venue: Enterprise House beside Aladimma Police station, a straight walk from Jevinik junction or Ikenegbu junction, Owerri.

Help lines: 08098801466, 08175652900.

Let us bring this ekwensu odu ogologo to justice! Join the campaign to make the coward, who almost wet himself when he was overthrown to on August 27, 1985, without a shot being fired, to pay for the of peaceful protesters! Don’t leave me to fight this battle on my own.

There are still over 300 Nigerians languishing in prison due to their patriotic roles during the protests. This is beside the uncountable number that that brutal dictator, Buhari killed. Support the movement.

Leo Messi not staying at FC Barcelona

Despite club and player reaching an agreement and their clear intention to sign a new contract today, this cannot happen because of financial and structural obstacles

Despite FC Barcelona and Lionel Messi having reached an agreement and the clear intention of both parties to sign a new contract today, this cannot happen because of financial and structural obstacles (Spanish Liga regulations).

As a result of this situation, Messi shall not be staying on at FC Barcelona. Both parties deeply regret that the wishes of the player and the club will ultimately not be fulfilled.

FC Barcelona wholeheartedly expresses its gratitude to the player for his contribution to the aggrandisement of the club and wishes him all the very best for the future in his personal and professional life.
..

BREAKING: AWAITING EX*****ON

This morning, I woke up to the news about something tragic that has happened in Kano, Nigeria. Alas! Someone has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Sharia court.

As I read through the news, I discovered that the victim was a singer and that his only crime for deserving this penalty was that he committed blasphemy in a song he circulated via WhatsApp sometime in March, 2020.

The youth of that city, allegedly stormed the Kano Hisbah office and demanded that action be taken against him or else they will take matters into their own hands.

Remember, that this supposed video was shared sometime in March and Yahaya got his sentence in August. My understanding in all of this is that the youth pressured the Sharia court to pass their judgement.

Yahaya was only 22 years and most part of his life is about to be cut short just because of a mere blasphemy of an illusion. A blasphemy against something we are not sure exists.

A lot of questions came to my mind when I was reading through the article and I can't seem to find any reasonable fact why this young man should be sentenced to death.

Is this what Kano youths ought to be fighting for?

Is Nigeria truly under a democratic government?

Which is the highest court in Nigeria? Sharia or the Supreme Court?

In the 21st century, how are we still dancing to this thing called religion which by origin is not even peculiar to us. History told us that both Christianity and Islam was foreign to us and it was the colonial masters that forced them on us. The question is; why did we choose to destroy ourselves with it?

We are heading to the 22nd century, where technology is taking over, Artificial intelligence is becoming the focus of most powerful nations, 5G is already here with us, the world is moving higher, our government is not investing enough money in education or making any effort for us to compete with our fellow youths elsewhere in the world for development and survival.

What Nelson Mandela said to Nigerians in 2007

“You know I am not very happy with Nigeria. I have made that very clear on many occasions. Yes, Nigeria stood by us more than any nation, but you let yourselves down, and Africa and the black race very badly. Your leaders have no respect for their people. They believe that their personal interests are the interests of the people. They take people’s resources and turn it into personal wealth. There is a level of poverty in Nigeria that should be unacceptable. I cannot understand why Nigerians are not more angry than they are.
“What do young Nigerians think about your leaders and their country and Africa? Do you teach them history...?

“What about the corruption and the crimes? Your elections are like wars. Now we hear that you cannot be president in Nigeria unless you are Muslim or Christian. Some people tell me your country may break up. Please don’t let it happen.

“Let me tell you what I think you need to do. You should encourage leaders to emerge who will not confuse public office with sources of making personal wealth. Corrupt people do not make good leaders. Then you have to spend a lot of your resources for education.

“Educate children of the poor, so that they can get out of poverty. Poverty does not breed confidence. Only confident people can bring changes. Poor, uneducated people can also bring change, but it will be hijacked by the educated and the wealthy...give young Nigerians good education. Teach them the value of hard work and sacrifice, and discourage them from crimes which are destroying your image as a good people.”
(Excerpts taken from a 2007 interview with Mandela conducted by Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed).
