REJOINDER: EDUCATION IN NIGER STATE: A CALL FOR ACCURATE UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION
We would like to express our appreciation to Mai Gemu for bringing attention of the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed and the Amiable State NUT Chairman, Comrade Adamu Mohammed Akayago, to the importance of practical application in education in his open letter titled "MAKING OR MARRING EDUCATION IN NIGER STATE." We commend his effort in advocating for the right approach to education in order to achieve success.
However, we would like to address some false claims made in the open letter regarding the Commissioner of Education and the NUT Chairman. It is essential to have accurate information and avoid misconceptions, especially when discussing matters of importance such as education.
Firstly, we want to clarify that both the Commissioner of Education and the NUT Chairman in Niger State have been actively working towards the enhancement of the education system in the state. They have shown dedication and commitment to ensuring that students and teachers have the necessary resources and support for effective teaching and learning.
The Commissioner of Education has been proactive in implementing policies and programs aimed at improving the quality of education in the State. As a result, the Ministry is committed to infrastructural development, teacher training, and curriculum enhancement.
Similarly, the NUT Chairman, Comrade Akayago has been instrumental in advocating for the welfare and professional growth of teachers in the state. Through various initiatives, the NUT Chairman has worked tirelessly to address the challenges faced by teachers. This includes advocating for better working conditions, infrastructural development, improved remuneration, and continuous professional development opportunities.
Therefore, any claims suggesting that the efforts of these esteemed individuals are falling short or hindering the progress of education in Niger State are entirely false and misleading. It is crucial to acknowledge their contributions and support their ongoing endeavors, as they are committed to playing a vital role in shaping the future of education in the state.
Additionally, we would like to clarify that during the interaction between the Honorable Commissioner and the Head teachers, no insults of any kind were directed towards the teachers. The assertion of insults made in the open letter is entirely false and misleading. It is important to ensure accurate information is conveyed and to refrain from spreading unfounded claims that can harm the reputation of individuals involved in the education sector. The focus should be on constructive dialogue and collaboration to address the challenges and promote the advancement of education in Niger State.
In conclusion, while we appreciate Mai Gemu's advocacy for a practical approach to education in Niger State, we kindly request a more accurate understanding and depiction of the continued efforts been made by the State Government through the Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education and the NUT Chairman in shaping the future of education in the state. It is by recognizing and supporting their efforts/work that we can continue to strive for excellence and progress in the education sector.
