Invest and empower Your Family, Secure Your Future a Reminder for Political Appointees.

A Timely Reminder to Political Appointees, Invest in Your Family's Future
Political appointments such as Senior Special Assistants (SSA), Special Advisers (SA), and Coordinators are undoubtedly a significant achievement and recognition of one's contributions to a political campaign or administration. However, these roles, often referred to as "political thank-yous," come with a time frame and are not permanent sources of income.
Therefore, it is imperative for all appointees to plan ahead and invest wisely for a sustainable future.

One crucial way to secure the future is by empowering your family, especially your wives, with a portion of your monthly allowance, no matter how small it might seem.
Investing in your wife’s business or skill development not only supports the family in the present but also creates a safety net for when the political appointment ends.

A commendable example of this foresight is seen in the actions of Muhammad Alh Shabafu (SSA), Abu Doko, Miss O, and others who have set a standard by channeling part of their allowances into empowering their families. Such actions ensure that their loved ones remain financially independent and supported, even after the political appointment ends. May Allah bless their investments and guide others to follow suit.

Empowering wives is particularly significant as they play a pivotal role in managing household affairs. Learning from the Igbo community, where men often introduce their families into their businesses, we see a model where the family business becomes a source of sustenance for generations. Even after the father's demise, the family seamlessly continues to thrive, ensuring financial stability and continuity.

This is a call to all political appointees to emulate this approach and create a legacy of empowerment within their families. Remember, political appointments are temporary, but the investments you make today can secure the future for you and your loved ones.

This piece of advice is a gentle reminder to plan ahead and ensure that when the political "thank you" comes to an end, your family’s financial well-being remains intact.

REGRESSIVE THINKERS STEP ASIDE.

I am deeply disappointed and bitter to learn about the flimsy and senseless reasons given for the cancellation of the Kpakungu Carnival.

This was not just an event; it was a platform born out of the creativity, hard work, and vision of a talented young man who had poured his heart and soul into its planning.

To those who conspired or collaborated to sabotage this noble initiative, know that you have not harmed him, but instead, you have only exposed your regressive and selfish mindset. By choosing to prioritize personal interests over the growth and development of Kpakungu, you have done nothing but push yourselves backward.

Talent cannot be suppressed it shines regardless of obstacles and no one can take this young man's gift away from him.

Let me remind you: life is a cycle, and tables do turn. Today, you may think you hold the power, but tomorrow might be a different story. Progress waits for no one, and your actions only delay, not destroy, the inevitable advancement of this community. Rest assured, Kpakungu will rise again, and its talents will shine brighter than ever.

Tubaba I hope to see you on the big stage 👍 👍 👍 👍

Hoodlums Attack Etsu Lokoja’s Palace, Destroy Properties

Suspected hoodlums attacked the palace of Etsu Lokoja, Chief Emmanuel Dauda-Shelika (Nyamkpa IV), in the early hours of Saturday, December 21, 2024, destroying properties including a vehicle.

The palace, located at Plot 306, New Layout, Lokoja, came under attack around 1:00 am. The incident occurred just before the Nupe Natives of Lokoja Development Union was set to host the 2nd edition of the Nupe Natives End-of-Year event, tagged “Lokoja ’24 Nupe Cultural Fiesta.” The event was subsequently canceled due to the attack.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Chief Dauda-Shelika narrated the harrowing experience:

> “I heard a big bang on my door around 1 am. When I checked through the window, I saw wildfire consuming my car, which had been set ablaze. I knew it was an attack and had to escape through the back door and over the fence for safety.”

He expressed gratitude to his neighbors, who tried to extinguish the fire, though the vehicle and other palace properties were destroyed.

The traditional ruler appealed to the government and security agencies to investigate the attack and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice. He urged the Nupe community to remain peaceful and avoid reprisals while allowing the authorities to handle the matter.

Chief Dauda-Shelika also called on Governor Ahmed Ododo and relevant authorities to recognize and grade the stool of Etsu Lokoja, which predates colonial times.

The Lokoja Local Government Chairman and security agencies conducted an on-site assessment following the attack.

The National President of the Nupe Natives Union Lokoja, Abubakar Ndash*te, clarified that the canceled event was a cultural celebration and not a coronation, as speculated. He expressed disappointment over the incident, noting that substantial resources had been invested in the event and calling for justice for the perpetrators.

The incident has raised concerns about security in the region as the Nupe community and authorities seek answers.
