COURSE DESCRIPTION
Cyprus Media Academy is pleased to offer a 10-day course in Advanced Multi-Camera
TV Direction to refresh and improve the skills of participants. This unique training programme in broadcast studios is composed of 20% theory and 80% practical sessions.
In this course, participants are re-introduced to TV grammar, camera shots,
shot sequences, script notation, camera instructions and prepare full TV camera scripts. Each participant undertakes numerous practical exercises which embrace modern production techniques. From initial idea to final transmission, participants also plan
multi-camera studio and outside broadcast productions.
A part of this course teaches participants how to use Nexus, the very latest CuePilot automation system which is used in the direction of major TV events throughout the world. Participants also observe the rehearsals and live outside broadcast from the Strovolos Theatre of the annual Madame Figaro event which includes the presentations of awards, numerous video clips, music performances and dance routines.

Munro Forbes is joint owner of the Academy, special advisor to Sigma Television, and trainer with the Thomson Foundation and Aljazeera Media Institute. He is engaged throughout the world by broadcasters, media centres, and universities, as a trainer and production consultant. Munro has more than 30 years of experience in the United Kingdomβs broadcasting industry, as a director and producer for both the BBC and ITV.

Per Zachariassen directed The Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen and is the CEO and founder of the Danish company CuePilot which developed the first-ever dedicated software for the direction of live TV shows & events. CuePilot works in both seconds and bars & beats and in pre-production, automatic vision mixer edits and performer cues provide TV shows with a faster shot-rate to become as sophisticated as music videos. The system has already been used worldwide to produce more than 500 live shows, viewed by millions of viewers. The very latest software will be used to produce the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 from Rotterdam.

Miltos Hadjoulles is a highly experienced TV director who has directed many major international football matches, sports events, concerts and awards shows. He has used CuePilot on all his recent productions and provides participants with practical experience in using this automation system. He uses numerous examples to illustrate the benefits of the CuePilot and each participant has the opportunity to programme the system and view results.
JOY PARSONS
Joy Parsons is a well-respected sound recordist and sound mixer with vast experience in British Television. She has worked in TVS, Yorkshire Television and the BBC on numerous productions ranging from live news and features to long-running drama serials, including ITVβs Emmerdale. At the BBC Joy specialised in classical music concerts and live coverage from London of The Proms from the Royal Albert Hall. Joy provides a valuable insight of sound design in major TV productions.
