Kebbi State has achieved the first milestone in the fight against GBV by passing the Child Rights and VAPP Laws in 2021.
However, legistlations are the first step to protect children, women and all abused persons from physical and sexual and emotional abuse. We must educate our citizens in addition to providing maximum Protection and effective remedies for victims and punishment of offenders.
The newly established Kebbi Sexual assault Referral Centre - Mai-Tale Tara SARC(MTTS) is meant to ease the referral pathway in addressing GBV in a safe and condusive environment.

The Kebbi Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation has expressed readiness to convene #KebbiCulturalDay to mark the 2019 World Day for Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development. State Coordinator of the Foundation, Jamilu Magaji disclosed this to newsmen in Birnin-Kebbi shortly after inaugural meeting of the organizing committee on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
According to him, the event which is organized in collaboration with the State Government is slated for June 26, 2019, on the theme "The Prospects of Cultural Heritage in Kebbi State in the Promotion of Sustainable Peace and Development."
He said the cultural day is aimed at harnessing the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria, particularly in Kebbi State. He added that the event is geared towards appreciating the value of cultural diversity with a view to promoting national cohesion, peace and development.
The Coordinator further highlighted that participants cut across various schools drawn from the four emirate councils in the State. He maintained that there would be cultural displays and exhibition of arts and crafts typhical of Kebbi by participants.
"There would be exciting exhibition of arts and crafts as well as colourful cultural display by students of secondary schools from Gwandu, Argungu, Yauri and Zuru emirates," he said
"Other activities include academic discourse and presentations of artistic expressions by the literary enthusiasts mentored by the Foundation," he added
"A renown Professor of African Culture and Former Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Prof. Aliyu M Bunza would serve as the Discussant while Aisha Augie-Kuta; Founder, Centre for Arts and Creative Talent would be the Keynote Speaker at the event," the Coordinator enthused
