This photo was taken in Damascus in 1899. The dwarf is Samir. He is a Christian and cannot walk. The one who carries him on his back is Mohamed. He is a Muslim and he is blind.

Mohamed relies on Samir to tell him where to go, and Samir uses his friend's back to navigate the city streets. They were both orphans and lived in the same room.

Samir was a hakawati, he had the gift of narration and told stories of a thousand and one nights to the customers of a cafe in Damascus, Mohamed sold bolbolas in front of the same cafe and liked to listen to his friend's stories.

One day, when he retired to his room, Muhammad found his companion dead. He wept and mourned his friend for seven days straight. When asked how they got along so well, being of different religions, he said only this:

"Here we were the same", pointing with his hand to his heart.

BULLETS RESERVES FAIL TO REACH FINALS

Fomo FC beat the FCB Nyasa Big Bullets reserve team by two goals (0-2 on Aggreggate). The Fomo FC team came into the game with a lot of energy because they had two goals scored in Mulanje. As such, a draw was enough for them.

Both halves didn't produce any goals.

This means that Fomo FC will meet Ntopwa FC at Kamuzu on 28 January 2024, which is next Sunday, while FCB Nyasa Bullets FC will meet Zomba Air Base.

"It will be a tight and tough game, as you know both of us want to be promoted, so it won't be an easy game," Sosten said after the game against Bullets reserves.

On the other hand, Chatama says, "We didn't come to party today. Congratulations to Fomo FC as they move to the next stage."

Chilomoni Football Club a newly formed team based in Chilomoni Blantyre , is inviting players who are capable to play in SRFA FAM Moto Division One league in 2024 season to attend one day trials slated for Saturday 27th January at Chilomoni Stadium starting from 14;00hrs.

The interested players are reminded to bring training kits . For those who may fail to show up on 27th January due to other obstacles ,the team will start their normal training on 6th February 2024 so you are encouraged to come on that day.
