The Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi has declined all political donations and funds already received and those promised to the Soweto Parish.

Archbishop Philip Anyolo through a statement has refunded donations of Ksh 200,000 from the Governor of Nairobi, Sakaja to the choir and Parish Missionary Council (PMC) Ksh 600,000 from President Ruto to the choir and PMC and Ksh 2 million from President Ruto for the construction of the Fathers' house.

He adds that the Church must remain neutral and avoid compromising its integrity by accepting political contributions.

Political leaders are urged to focus on addressing pressing national issues, like corruption, human rights, freedom of speech, and more.

A Kenyan university student has been arrested and arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts for predicting the death of President William Ruto.

DPP in a statement has indicated that the university student, David Oaga Mokaya, shared false information by posting an image of a funeral procession.

The procession featured a casket covered with the Kenyan flag escorted by military officers in ceremonial uniform.

Further, he shared a caption suggesting that the funeral showed President William Ruto’s body being transported.

Governor Kenneth Lusaka has announced plans to distribute transformers across all 45 wards in Bungoma County.

This initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the County Government of Bungoma and the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC).

The partnership aims to enhance rural electrification and improve access to electricity for households, businesses, and institutions in underserved areas.

Governor Lusaka emphasized that the distribution of transformers aligns with his administration’s commitment to advancing development and bridging the electricity gap across the county.

By implementing this project, the county seeks to empower local communities, boost economic activities, and improve the overall quality of life for Bungoma residents.
