Róska (1940-1996) was a radical figure in Iceland who forged her own path through the male-dominated art scene of the 60's and was one of the founding members of Nýlistasafnið. She studied art and film in Iceland, Prague, and Rome in the late 60’s, where she met her second husband, Manrico Pavolettoni. Although Róska and Manrico directed a few shorts and documentaries, this is one of the few feature length films directed by a woman at the time.

Festival Résistances vill bjóða 10 ungmennum frá Íslandi á kvikmyndahátíðina í Foix, Frakklandi, dagana 4. - 14. júlí 2019. Þar færðu tækifæri til að upplifa kvikmyndahátíðina, hitta fagfólk í kvikmyndagerð og vinna að gerð stuttrar heimildamyndar. Ferðalagið, allur matur og uppihald er greitt af Festival Résistances. Athugið: þess er ekki krafist að þú hafir nokkura reynslu af kvikmyndagerð, aðeins áhuga. Ungmenni af erlendum bakgrunni og flóttafólk er sérstaklega hvatt til þess að sækja um. Festival Résistances wants to invite 10 young people to their festival in Foix, France, July 4th - 14th 2019. There you will have an opportunity to experience the film festival, meet film making professionals and make your own short documentary. Your travel, food and lodging is all paid for by Festival Résistances. ATTN: No experience in film making is required, only interest in film. Thank you so much to actor/ director Tómas Lemarquis for visiting our class On November 16th 2017. It was a night to remember. He showed his short documentary he directed titled Ketil about the late eccentric local figure. The highlight of the evening was when he taught our students how to turn into a panther.
