*Policeman killed, CRPF man injured in Pingelan Pulwama attack*
Srinagar, Oct 02: A policeman was killed while a CRPF personnel was injured in a terrorist attack at Pingelan area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
An official told the news agency that militants opened fire on joint team of forces in Pingelan Pulwama in which a policeman and CRPF personnel got injured.
Both the injured personnel were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where policeman succumbed and CRPF personnel is being treated, he said.
He said the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
"Terrorists fired upon joint naka party of CRPF & Police at Pinglana, . In this attack, 01 Police personnel got & 01 CRPF personnel got injured. Reinforcement sent. Area being . Further details shall follow." Kashmir Police Zone tweeted.

*Shopian Encounter: 01 terrorist killed, operation on*
Srinagar, October 02: One terrorist has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Baskuchan Imamsahib area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.
Official sources told, one terrorist has been killed in an ongoing encounter, however identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier Reports reaching that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Baskuchan.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering of a gunfight.

*Police arrest few suspects in Udhampur twin blasts case*
Jammu, Oct 02 : Jammu & Kashmir Police have arrested a few suspects from the Basantgarh area of Udhampur in connection with the recent twin bus blasts in the district, sources said here on Sunday.
Police sources told for the last two days police have rounded at least 15 suspected persons in connection with the case.
He said that after sustained questioning of suspects, police late evening picked up a person from Basantghar, who is said to be main accused behind twin blasts in the district.
Meanwhile, police said that Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh and Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh are schedule to hold a press conference today evening to further elaborate on the case.
Notably, two back to back blasts took place inside two parked buses in Udhampur district this week. In one of the blasts two persons were also injured—(KNO)

*Indonesia police say at least 129 people killed after stampede at football match*
JAKARTA, OCTOBER 02: Indonesian police said on Sunday that at least 129 people had died and 180 were injured after a stampede following crowd trouble at a football match in the province of East Java overnight.
After the match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya had ended, supporters from the losing team had invaded the pitch and police had fired tear gas, triggering a stampede and cases of suffocation, East Java police chief Nico Afinta told reporters.
Indonesia’s chief security minister Mahfud MD said that the number of spectators exceeded the capacity of a stadium.
In an Instagram post, he said 42,000 tickets had been issued for a stadium that had a capacity to hold 38,000 people.
Video footage from local news channels showed people rushing onto the pitch in the stadium in Malang and images of body bags.
Indonesia’s sports minister Zainudin Amali said authorities would re-evaluate safety at football matches and consider not allowing spectators.
The Indonesian top league BRI Liga 1 has suspended games for a week following the match that Persebaya won 3-2 and an investigation had been launched, the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) said.
There have been previous outbreaks of trouble at matches in Indonesia, with a strong rivalry between clubs sometimes leading to violence among supporters. (Agencies)

*Srinagar Police arrests self proclaimed journalist Nadeem Nadu in r**e, blackmailing and extortion case*
On 30th September 2022 Srinagar police arrested a self proclaimed journalist Nadeem Ahmed Ganie Nadu S/o Mukhtar Ahmed Ganie R/o Qazibagh, Anantnag in a r**e case. On a complaint received from a girl (name withheld) that the accused lured her through his whatsapp group made for people seeking help, forced her into a sexual relationship with himself after fraudently sedating herself in course of that help. The victim also alleged that the accused took her objectionable pictures after sedating her and used these to blackmail her into forced sexual In*******se many times.
The accused also took her gold ornaments in course of blackmailing her. Pertinent to mention the lady was a student in an institution in central kashmir at the time of the occurrence of this crime.
A Case under FIR no 50/22 in sections 376,384,506 of IPC has been registered in Women PS Srinagar Distt.
Investigation is undergoing in the case to unearth more facts and some more allegations made by the victim in this case. Keeping in view the heinous nature of the crime, an SIT has been constituted headed by Owais Wani JKPS DySP Headquarters and comprising of Sleet Shah JKPS, DySP/PC, Khalida Parveen, SHO women PS and ASI Mohd Yousuf Shah as members.
Srinagar Police assures all its citizens that crime against Women will not be tolerated at all and stringent punishment will be given to those involved.

Hundreds offer Khoje Digar,
Devotees throng Naqshband Sahib (RA) shrine
Srinagar, Sep 30, : Hundreds of devotees on Friday offered Khoje Digar special mass prayers of Asr to mark the Urs of Khwaja Naqshband Sahib (RA) at his shrine at Khwaja Bazar area of Downtown here.
The devotees offered prayers on the road stretch from Nowhatta to Khanyar. The shrine management committee had laid the prayer mats on the road to avoid inconvenience to the people.
Khoje Digar is offered on 3rd of Rabi-ul-Awal every year, which also marks the commemoration of the annual Urs of the saint of Naqashbandi Sahib (RA).
Soon after the prayers, Imam and Khateeb of the shrinerecited the Awraad-e-Asriya, a booklet comprising verses of repentance and faith. The Sufi saint used to recite along with his hundreds' of disciples 700 years ago at Bukhara in Uzbekistan.
He also threw light on the life of Naqashband Sahib (RA).
In his sermon, the Imam said that the Uswa-e-Hasana (the way of living) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has been and will continue to be the best path to follow and walk upon, not only for Muslims but entire mankind.
He said great Sufi saints like Naqashband Sahib (RA) were the blessed and chosen ones by Almighty Allah to spread the teachings of the revered Prophet Muhammad (SAW) among people who dedicated their life to it. (KNT)

DDC Pulwama distributes 18 Motorized Tricycles to Specially abled persons
Pulwama Sept 30 : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Baseer ul Haq Chowdhary today distributed motorized tricycles to 18 Differently abled persons belonging to BPL category and having more than 40 percent disability in lower limbs.
The camp was organized by the Social Welfare Department at DC Office Complex Pulwama. DSWO Pulwama, besides all officers/officials of the Social Welfare Department were present on the occasion.
While interacting with specially abled persons, the DDC complimented the Social Welfare Department for organizing the distribution camp for Specially Abled Persons. He said motorised Tricycles will empower the people with special needs and would include them in mainstream life. He added that the mobility of the specially challenged people would be pivotal in earning sustainable livelihoods without inconvenience.
The DDC asked the DSWO to organise more programmes in near future for creating more and more awareness among the general masses.Enumerating various objectives of the schemes, the DDC said that such awareness programmes would help in ensuring empowerment of women through education and equal participation in all fields.
It is worth mentioning here that the Motorised Tricycles were sponsored by J&K Rehabilitation Council, a Government organisation which is at forefront in the empowerment of persons with disabilities.

TWO TERRORISTS KILLED IN BARAMULLA GUNFIGHT,
AGNIVEER RECRUITMENT RALLY WAS THEIR TARGET
Srinagar, 30 Sep 2022. Security forces recieved specific inputs about presence of terrorists in Yedipora Village, Haiderbegh, Pattan.
A joint operation was launched by the team of JK Police and Indian Army where cordon of the target area was established and search operation was undertaken. During the search, the terrorists hiding in a residential house fired upon the search party, which was retaliated and firefight ensued. This resulted in elimination of two terrorists in the morning and recovery of 02 x AK Rifle, 01 x Pistol and other war like stores.
An input was received by security forces that these two terrorists were given task to attack the ongoing Army recruitment rally (Agniveer) in Baramulla. However, security forces have been successful in foiling their plans by eliminating both the terrorists.

*3 hybrid militants arrested in Handwara: Police* Srinagar, Aug 19 : Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday claimed to have arrested three hybrid militants in Handwara area of Kupwara district and also recovered arms and ammunition from them. According to a statement, issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) on August 04, joint parties of Police, Army 21 RR and 92 Bn CRPF had arrested 03 hybrid militants in Handwara and recovered arms and ammunition from them. The statement reads that FIR No. 213/2022 u/s 13 UAPA and 7/25 Arms Act had been registered at Police Station Handwara and investigation was initiated. It reads that based on leads developed during investigation, the role of two more individuals emerged in the conspiracy to carry out militant acts namely Aijaz Ahmad Bhat @ Hilal, S/o Khazir Mohd Bhat of Humpora and Naseer Ahmad Mir, S/o Mohd Ramzan of Sagipora “They have been arrested and based on their disclosure, a cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered by a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army 21RR and 92 Bn CRPF. The recovery includes 02 Pistols, 04 pistol magazines and 58 pistol rounds, and 06 grenades,” it added. As per the statement further investigation in the matter is underway—(KNO)

*Save Chinar Save Heritage: Chinar Plantation Drive held at B'la* Baramulla, March 15: The Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar today launched a Plantation drive at Gulnar Park Baramulla here by planting Chinar saplings. A Chinar plantation drive was organized by the Department of Floriculture Baramulla. On the occasion, the DC said that the campaign has been started with the purpose to increase the green cover in the district and in coming days more such plantation drives will be initiated across the district. Asserting on maintaining green cover, the DC directed concerned to ensure planting of Chinar plants at public parks, gardens and schools across the district. He asked the concerned to take proper care of the plants to ensure these are grown safely at all spots.
