Chief Minister of Sikkim, PS Tamang meets Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Chief Minister PS Tamang writes..

"Today, I called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji, at Lok Sewa Bhawan in Dispur.

Our discussions were focused on the development and progress of the northeastern region. A key topic we explored was the possibility of launching a helicopter service between Gangtok and Guwahati. This service would greatly enhance accessibility for the people of both states and contribute significantly to regional growth.

During our conversation, the Hon’ble Chief Minister kindly informed me about the advanced healthcare facilities available in Assam, particularly the hospitals specializing in cancer treatment. He graciously offered to extend support to patients from Sikkim who seek treatment at these facilities.

This gesture of cooperation and solidarity underscores the strong bonds between our states. This collaboration will undoubtedly ease the burden on those facing serious health challenges, ensuring they have access to the best possible care close to home.

I also took the opportunity to extend an invitation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji, to visit Sikkim. I was delighted that he graciously accepted the invitation and assured me that he would plan his visit tentatively towards the end of this year.
