*Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Grace Sikkim's Golden Jubilee Statehood Day Celebration*

In a momentous announcement, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted his invitation to be the Chief Guest at Sikkim's 50th Statehood Day celebration on May 16, 2025. This milestone occasion marks the golden jubilee of Sikkim's merger with India, commemorating its integration as the 22nd state in 1975.

During their meeting on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, Chief Minister Tamang extended warm greetings to the Prime Minister and engaged in profound and productive discussions on various issues pertinent to Sikkim.

The year-long celebrations, themed "Sunaulo, Samridha, and Samarth Sikkim," will highlight the state's history, progress, and development since its merger with India. The Chief Minister expressed his delight at the Prime Minister's acceptance, emphasizing that his presence will significantly enhance the celebration's significance.

Chief Minister Tamang urged the people of Sikkim to participate enthusiastically in the celebrations, embracing the spirit of TEAM SIKKIM and committing to the continued progress and prosperity of the state and the nation.

We wholeheartedly appreciate the efforts of our Hon'ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), in creating a peaceful, progressive, and congenial Sikkim. His visionary leadership has earned him the title of India's most popular Chief Minister, as recognized by the prestigious India Today Group's "Mood of the Nation" research.

We also express our sincere gratitude for the decision to publish official notifications and gazettes in both English and Nepali, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all citizens, in line with the spirit of the Indian Constitution.

Furthermore, we acknowledge and appreciate the government's initiatives to modernize and enhance educational environments in Sikkim, from primary to advanced levels. Notable examples include the establishment of the Atma Nirbhar Research and Training Institute of Sikkim, Apatan fellowship, teacher appointments and regularization, and the construction of the Khangchendzonga State University campus.

With these acknowledgments, DAS reiterates its optimism for a developed, prosperous, and peaceful Sikkim, characterized by joy, unity, and tranquility, as envisioned in "Parikalpanako Sikkim."

*HISTORIC 78TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT CENTRAL PENDAM CONCLUDES WITH GRAND SUCCESS!*

The Sub Division Level 78th Independence Day Celebration at Central Pendam came to a thrilling close yesterday, with a spectacular display of patriotism, culture, and sportsmanship. The grand finale was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri LB Das, Honorable Area MLA of 18 West Pendam Constituency cm Advisor IPR/IT/LR&DMD, Government of Sikkim, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by his spouse Smt. Sangita Das and other distuingesed Dignitaries as special guest.

The day began with a ceremonial flag-hoisting by the Chief Guest, followed by the Indian National Anthem and a mesmerizing parade by schools, which was part of a keenly contested competition. Sunrise Academy, Duga, emerged victorious in the parade competition.

The cultural dance competition, another highlight of the event, saw Sakhu Khani Primary School, Central Point Academy, and Rangpo Sr Sec School take top honors in their respective categories, Primary Level, JHS level and Secondary and Senior Secondary Level.

The main highlight was the final football match of the Sub Division Level 78th Independence Day Celebration open men's football tournament, which saw Majhitar Sporting Club triumph over Black Spider Gadi, lifting the coveted trophy, scoring 3-1.

Kudos to the IDCC committee and Patriotic Youth Club for organizing a truly unforgettable celebration!
