National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE has extended CTET & TET certificate validity for a lifetime now. With this move, candidates who have qualified the CTET and TET examination can apply for teacher recruitment all through their lifetime. Earlier the validity for these certificates was till 7 years from the date of issue.

The decision to extend the validity was taken during the 50th Meeting of the NCTE's General Body that was held on September 29. Among several issues discussed by the Commission in the meeting, this was one of the major topics.

12-Year-Old Girl R***d, Killed In Gujarat; Cousin Detained: Cops
Palanpur: A 12-year-old hearing and speech-impaired girl was allegedly r***d and killed by her cousin in Deesa town of Gujarat's Banaskantha district, police said on Saturday.

A 19-year-old Dalit r**e victim, Manisha Valmiki, who was gang r***d and left paralysed by four upper caste men, died a fortnight after the attack in a Delhi hospital on Tuesday.

She was shifted to the Safdarjung Hospital in the national capital on Monday evening after her condition deteriorated.

On September 14, the victim was dragged by the dupatta around her neck to a field when she had gone to collect cattle fodder, which injured her spinal cord. When she was held down, she apparently bit her own tongue which caused a deep cut. Fakhrul Hoda, head of neurosurgery at the Aligarh hospital where she was being treated, told reporters that "Surgery to fix her spine could only have been done after her condition improved. The damage to the spinal cord appeared to be permanent."

The victim, youngest of five siblings, was on life support for sometime. The girl was referred to Delhi on Monday on her father's request. Her brother accompanied her to Delhi.

Ambala Engineer's day is celebrated in India on September 15. It is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of M Visvesvaraya. He is considered as one of the greatest Indian engineers of India. M Visvesvaraya is known for his outstanding achievements as an engineer like Krishna Raja Sagara dam in the north-west suburb of Mysuru city among others. He had also served as one of the Chief Engineers of the flood protection system for the city of Hyderabad. For his contributions, he was also awarded India's highest honour of Bharat Ratna.
