Just look how beautiful Mairi’s feathers are😍

Mairi is a Scots Dumpy - a rare Scottish breed that dates back to Saxon times. Legend has it that when the Roman Army moved north of the border, the Picts carried a type of poultry similar to today’s Dumpies as guards to warn off strangers approaching the camp!

We’re slowly replenishing our flock. Due to the health complications that come with hybrids we have decided to introduce some heritage breeds along with continuing to rescue the ex battery hens.
