With so many options available, and new guidance on the horizon from the SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC), it can be difficult to figure out what combinations of assessments are acceptable for SASC reporting, particularly in dyslexia assessment.

We can help. Not only are we offering 10% off many of our key kits through August, we also have knowledgeable assessment consultants who can help focus on your needs and what you could or should have to meet requirements for both SASC and, vitally, your own clients.

Conference Seminar - Professor Anna Barnett & Dr Nichola Stuart present their session, ‘The Intelligence and Development Scales – 2nd Edition (IDS-2): SASC Authorised’

This session is an invaluable opportunity to learn about the four Executive Function sub-tests and how they are scored. Professor Anna Barnett & Dr Nichola Stuart will also present a case study to illustrate the interpretation of test results and their use in planning a programme of support.

The IDS-2 is a broad developmental assessment containing 30 subtests across six Domains: Intelligence, Executive Functions, Psychomotor skills, Social-emotional skills, Scholastic skills, and Motivation and Attitude. The IDS-2 is used worldwide and was recently adapted and translated into English, with the collection of UK norms for 5–20-year-olds. Standardised Executive Function tests are an important component of neurodevelopmental assessment. The Executive Functions Domain of the IDS-2 has four subtests: Listing words, Divided attention, Animal colours and Drawing routes. These are designed to measure different aspects of Executive Function working together, but have a primary focus on mental flexibility, working memory, inhibition and planning respectively. In this presentation, we will describe the four Executive Function sub-tests and how they are scored.

ℹ The conference will feature 8 seminars from leading experts and delegates can access all seminars THREE WEEKS before the day, with our speakers participating in a live Q & A follow-up panel on the conference day. All recordings will be available for three weeks after the live event.

⌛ The conference provides 3 hours SASC authorised cpd, along with 8.5 hours general cpd

There are at least 11.5 million Alzheimer’s or other dementia caregivers living in the US. Being a caregiver can be extremely challenging both cognitively and emotionally.

Our latest release “Psychotherapeutic Support for Family Caregivers of People with Dementia” provides practicing therapists with guidelines for working with the ever-increasing number of family caregivers.

According to Marvin R. Goldfried, PhD, from Stony Brook University, these “therapeutic guidelines have support from both clinical observation and empirical testing and are invaluable for any therapist working with caregivers.”
