Billgrip Media Video maker based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Hi, my name is Bill, what's yours? Eventually I turned my hobby into a job, and now I consider it my calling.

I started making videos in college with my friends just for fun, and through that I found out I loved the process and was hungry to get better. I am currently a video creator at Lincoln Berean Church, but I do have limited availability for freelance video/photography jobs that are the right fit. Contact me if you're interested.

Goodness, I just consider it such a blessing to be able to work the couples I work with and capture their wedding days. So thankful to Jeff and Amy for hiring me! It's such a special privilege to capture a wedding day and then craft a story that will bring back all the feels now and time and time again in the future.

New vidsource video- 2 minutes in Iceland!

I've been insanely busy lately as a director lately, but last week I had Covid...and even though it was miserable, it was also an overdue opportunity to slow down and look back. Once I was up for it I started digging through my Iceland footage from 2019 to put together one last video with my favorite shots from the trip before I archived it. Here's what I put together- I hope you'll enjoy this small taste of Iceland.

Check out Ben and Rachel's wedding day highlights! Absolutely loved working with this couple on a gorgeous fall day to capture some beautiful footage but more importantly to tell the story of their wedding day and give a small glimpse into the amazing people they are. They are so much fun and absolutely perfect for each other. I'm so excited for them and the commitment they made to each other, and I hope this video will be a blessing to them for the years ahead.

They grew up in different cultures, speaking different lanuages, but when Emma and Hardik met and fell in love it was clear that those differences didn't matter, and that their love for each other was more than just feelings. Check out the story from their beautiful wedding day captured on a mountain top in Colorado!

New short and sweet drone shot compilation from the middle of nowhere South Dakota, 30 miles from Badlands National Park. It's illegal to fly a drone at a national park, but I really wanted some Badlands type footage and we found this spot about 30 miles away. I was nervous I was little late to really capture it well because the sun was setting, but in the end I really loved the footage I got and it came out pretty epic! Check it out here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5IvGvni5l8

If you're interested in this type of content be sure to subscribe to vidsource, http://www.youtube.com/vidsource ...I love making these kind of videos and I've been posting semi-regularly, so be sure to check out some of the recent videos you may have missed as well!

Wow. It's hard to put into words just how awesome this couple is and how much I enjoyed working with them. I love their story and their contagious authenticity. Their love for each other was so easy to see that day from behind the camera. The big question that day? Would Adam cry when he saw Shay for the first time that day walking down the aisle....you'll have to watch the video to find out :)

NEW BILLGRIP VIDEO! Reacting to some of our old videos!!!! Link: https://youtu.be/R8rywUgpd28

If you're new here, or you're a potential client...you may wonder what a "Billgrip" video is.

Well...

I first got into video making in college by making videos just for fun with my friends. I posted them on youtube hoping we'd get famous or something, but at that time being a "youtuber" wasn't really a thing, and there wasn't a clear path to making a career out of it.

But through that I found that I loved telling stories through videos, and I loved the art of it. My drive to get better lead me into a video production career. Instead of making videos for youtube for fun I started getting opportunities to get paid to make videos for other people.

I filmed a lot of weddings and worked for a video production company before taking the video production director position at my church five years ago., but I still kept taking wedding clients because I love doing, as well as freelance projects if they were the right fit with my schedule.

This page was originally created to share "Billgrip" videos from my youtube channel. That shifted as the type of work I was doing shifted, and now I mostly use this page to share wedding films and freelance projects I'm doing.

I haven't been able to make many youtube videos since about 2011 as I got busy purusing my career, but some of the old videos STILL some views every day. I used to be nervous that a potential client might see one of my old videos and judge my technical skills by that. But as time passes and my body of work has increased I don't worry about that anymore. Now I just love that those videos still exist on the internet more than a decade later. It's an amazing time capsule of an incredible season of life and memories with great friends.

Recently I didn't have the time for it but I made the time to do a react video with Brice, one of my close friends featured in several of our old videos. It ended up being way longer and more work to put together than I expected, but grinding away at this for a few week and a few nights of staying up till 3AM was well worth it.

And I plan to make more of these with other friends who were featured in past videos.

If you know the old Billgrip videos you'll love this. And if you haven't seen these- you may be a decade late to the party but better late than never. ENJOY!

I'm so glad these exist. In this video Brice and I react to 10 of the videos he was in on this channel over the years- some we hadn't seen in years. We discu...

****I'M STARTING A NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL****

(if you don't feel like reading this whole post you can just save time and go here and subscribe :) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrtDGDis8zyMcoPRIIv5H_w )

This channel is a new side venture I'm calling Vidsource- a place for high quality footage and drone shot compilations from wherever I go.

Why? First of all, I legitimately enjoy capturing footage when I travel, whether it before a client or for fun. From my years of doing weddings and other small one-man band type productions, I've mastered the art of capturing A LOT of footage in a short period of time from one place.

People I work with jokingly say that "overshoot" should be my middle name...and I agree...I'd rather have way more than I need for the edit than not enough.

But that also means I end up with a lot of really great footage that never gets used. So I've tried my hand at selling stock footage, some have sold but some literally have ZERO views.

I think that's a tragedy. I refuse to hold beautiful footage hostage on my hard drive.

So that's why I'm starting Vidsource, to give that footage a better chance to be seen. But more than that, capturing footage of places and putting together simple, elegant shot compilations is something I truly enjoy doing.

It's not a stock video site, and it's not a travel vlog full of fancy transitions and perfect looking people contemplating the meaning of life. It could be a compilation from an epic city like San Francisco, or footage from a beautiful place like Iceland. But it could also be a small town in the midwest, or a themed video around a season or sunsets. There's so much potential, and I'm excited to see where it leads.

I'm literally in the very initial early phase of the idea, BUT I'd love to have your help getting the ball rolling.

My goal is for the channel to hit 100 youtube subscribers on in the first month. It's free to subscribe- would you be a part of helping me reach that goal?

Just spent 5 days in California on an epic road trip with my family starting in LA and ending in San Francisco. It was the first time my kids had been on an airplane and a chance to experience a small but incredible slice of our big beautiful world. I did my best to capture our journey and collect potential stock footage and photos all along the way. But the best part of being home and looking through what I captured is knowing how much better it was in person, experiencing new places and new things with the people I love the most in this world. Whether it's the power of the ocean, the imposing mountain cliffs, the overwhelming sequoia trees, or the seemingly endless cities- a camera can only give you a visual description of a place or a moment. Being there in person is always better. I loved every second of the adventure, and I'd go back anytime.

I'm hoping to share more from our trip over on Instagram in the coming weeks. So give me a follow if you haven't (billgrip) and look for more in the days ahead!

I shot a music video in Iceland! This is a very unique and beautiful cover of U2's famous song "I still haven't found what I'm looking for." This is something I'm so excited to share and I hope you'll check it out.

The pre-production on this video was basically "Hey we're going to be in Iceland (for a different event) we should shoot a music video while we're there!" Only in a place as beautiful as Iceland can you get away with that little planning :) But as we shot it we really found the story along the way and added a little bit more to when we got back.

The idea is that sometimes we may get to where we think we want to be, and even if that is somewhere/something that you'd think would satisfy you- somehow even then you still haven't found what you're looking for.

If anything about this video connects with you please share it! I'd love for more people to see this and be challenged and inspired by its message.

A few months back I got hired to be camera op on a freelance project for an organization called Homes For Our Troops- which builds specially adapted custom homes for wounded and disabled veterans. They had just given away their 300th home, and we were documenting the final steps and what's known as a "key ceremony" right before the family moves in.

Even though this was during the fall I just recently found out that some of our footage was featured in a story about this family on ABC's "The View." I thought that was pretty neat and wanted to share, not just because I got to shoot some footage in this (the stuff I helped with starts about 2 minutes in), but more importantly to celebrate this fantastic organization and the work they're doing to help provide accessible homes for men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom. Check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCpWsHnYg-A&feature=emb_title

(PS, I've got another project I'm working on with this same organization that I'm really really excited about and hopefully I'll be able to share more about that in an upcoming post)

About

Video maker guy. Occasional photographer. Through years of making videos for fun with my friends I discovered that video making wasn’t just a hobby- but it was my passion. From then on, all I wanted was to get better at it. That hunger to get better took me on an incredible journey working for video production companies, doing freelance jobs, weddings, and making videos for my church. After hundreds of shoots and countless nights up until 3AM editing, I am still just as passionate about pursuing excellence and getting better with every project. I have experience with video production in companies in specialized roles, as well as a solo freelancer. No matter who I’m working for, I maximize. In the end I want to make every video as good as it can possibly be with the time, resources, and experience I can bring to the project. I love sharing what I do with others, and especially with anyone who also longs for excellence in their own creative work. If you’re at all interested in my work, give this page a like and follow along as I post some of the awesome stuff I get to make!
