Christ it’s been a while.

Joining me tonight, not one, but two very special guests. That’s right, I’ve somehow managed to wrangle James Johnstone and Joseph Darrah into the studio for tonight’s show.

Alright party people.

Sorry I’ve been late in getting this out, man’s been busy.

Had a cracking time in the studio myself on Monday talking nonsense, unfortunately there’s been an issue from the radio side of things with the audio file so if I gave you a shoutout or played a request I’m sorry (I’m not) but I’ll get you again!

Now, I interviewed Darren McGarvey last week before he played in Inverness ahead of his gig at The View Oban on Friday night. We spoke about his books; Poverty Safari and The Social Distance Between Us, his music career, life in general and even dreaming about Paolo Nutini!

Joining me for an interview tonight ahead of his show on Friday night in The View Oban, is Darren McGarvey.
Darren is a writer, performer, Scottish BAFTA winner, community activist, columnist, and former rapper-in-residence at Police Scotland’s Violence Reduction Unit. His first book, Poverty Safari, won the famous Orwell Prize in 2018 and his new book, The Social Distance Between Us has just been nominated for the Royal Society of Literatures Ondaatje Award (tune in to hear me pronounce that later btw).

Darren and I get into some deep waters during our chat so the full interview will be uploaded via the podcast tomorrow (or whenever I get round to fully editing it, I’m a busy boy).

Well then! Thought I’d better make a page for the show. Now the podcast version of last nights show’s being worked on and should be available by the end of the week (if I remember to finish doing it tonight) so you can listen back to us while you’re doing whatever. Obviously the music has to be cut out and I’ve had a few people ask for a playlist, so the day after every show I’ll share it on here and you can listen without our patter.
