TIANL had been an idea brewing in my mind for a long time, since the year before this one in which it actually ended up launching - the decision to finally go ahead with it has filled me with an eager enthusiasm and a drive to pursue it properly. The catalyst to spur me on was finding phono cables, rediscovering an old mixer I'd bought long ago, and acquiring a record player

with two tape decks below it and a record function- as well as figuring out how to work my dad's old JVC cassette deck and use the phono tape out from the mixer with a line from my computer to get sounds played from VLC media player to tape. The original idea for this was for it to be an entirely CDr-based label until this catalyst occurred. Now it will probably be a label that would like to encompass as many formats as possible - I'm talking tape, cdr, cd, dvdr, floppy disk, you name it. Everyone who supports this label will be rewarded. I will love you a lot. I am so broke and often wonder about how I can really justify this - so your support is in dire need - each release will no doubt serve as an investment in the next one - this is entirely DIY so it will be largely open to trades and you may have to expect delays due to various unforeseen circumstances. I have made plans for the first three to four releases, so I already have a backlog. Work has begun on the first release, and as the second will be a compilation - a call-out to artists has already begun to take place. The third and fourth are mere blurry visages of an outline of what they could be. For these reasons - I will not be accepting submissions from artists for individual releases, and while I am making calls to artists I would like to participate in the TIANL 002 compilation, you are more than welcome to send me a piece you'd like me to consider including to my email as .wav that is no more than 10 minutes but preferably closer to 5. Thank you for reading and thank you for your love and support. Long live the new noise.
