Following a highly acclaimed first season, Transmissions: The Definitive Story of Joy Division & New Order has returned with its much-anticipated Season 2!

Season 1 told the tale of the formation of Joy Division, vividly documenting the creation of their two studio albums and the tragic death of singer Ian Curtis. It also covered the birth of New Order, their often tumultuous early years and the creation of their first three, now classic, albums Movement (1981), Power, Corruption & Lies (1983) and Low-Life (1985) not to mention the definitive telling of the story of the greatest 12” single of all time, Blue Monday.

Narrated by BBC Radio’s , Season 2 finds our unlikely heroes adjusting after the surprise global success of Blue Monday transforms New Order into stars; Quincy Jones is knocking down their door with offers of a US record deal, John Hughes is hunting them down for soundtrack work, New York’s hippest producers are lining up to get in the studio and huge US success beckons.

But as New Order’s profile grows, so too do the demands and excesses and the band begin to realise just how far they’ve come, and to question how far the road might take them. This series documents arena tours, Ibizan insanity, a behind-the-scenes look at the chaotic peak of the Hacienda, the creation of three more classic albums Brotherhood (1986) Technique (1989) Republic (1993) and a certain timeless soccer World Cup anthem… World In Motion.

Featuring brand new and exclusive interviews with band members: Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert and Peter Hook.

Special guest contributors include Johnny Marr, Billy Corgan, Christine And The Queens, The Cure’s Robert Smith, Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, Keith Allen, Peter Saville, Andrew O’Hagan, Tom Atencio, Arthur Baker, Kevin Cummins, DJ Paulette, Megan Louise, The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands, Audrey Golden, Paul Morley, Jo Whiley, Kevin Saunderson, Tarquin Gotch, Will Sergeant, Virgil Abloh, Hot Chip’s; Alexis Taylor, Mike Pickering, Neil Tennant, Daniel Avery, Charlie Gunn… and Bez.

Introducing Lower Street Office Hours!

Pod Bible is excited to share some news from our digital partners Lower Street – a podcast agency for creatively brave brands eager to create, launch, and grow high-quality shows.

Lower Street are launching ‘Lower Street Office Hours’ – a free monthly virtual Q&A series dedicated to answering your most pressing questions about brand podcasting. Each session will feature insights from a leading expert in podcasting, followed by an open-floor Q&A where attendees can engage directly with the speakers and the Lower Street Head of Strategy and Development Annalise Nielsen.

Office Hours kicks off on September 18th at 5 PM BST and the first session will welcome Steve Pratt, a seasoned media professional with decades of experience and a proven track record in marketing strategy. Steve is the co-founder of Pacific Content, founder of The Creativity Business, and author of Earn It: Unconventional Strategies for Brave Marketers.

Steve will share the importance of earning and maintaining attention in today's content-saturated world. Plus, he’ll share his own insights and forward-thinking approach to creating an attention strategy that’s as unique as your brand.

“You need a strategy to earn attention because attention is all that matters. Without it, you have nothing of value. No attention means no time spent, no listeners, and a waste of your time and money. With a great attention strategy, you unlock all the superpowers of audio for your brand.” - Steve Pratt

Following the presentation, there will be time for a Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to ask specific questions about their own podcasting challenges. As a bonus, registered attendees will receive the first audiobook chapter of Earn It: Unconventional Strategies for Brave Marketers. Participants will also have a chance to win a copy of the full book.
