As much as I’m 💩 scared to share this, I had to hop on this trend because as much as I love social media...
I do find it CAN be really toxic (much more personally than professionally) and makes it pretty f*cking impossible NOT to compare your life to what you see online.
Like back in lockdown I was OBSESSED with interior accounts. We’d just bought our first home and I literally drove my partner to the brink of insanity because I’d get SO frustrated that what took someone on insta 1 minute to do would take us all day 🫠
But that IS REALITY - panelling and painting an entire living room isn’t just as simple as someone one makes it looks on insta. That’s their highlight reel of getting from A to B and it’s SO easy to forget that.
The other day, I saw a video on T!kT0k of a Dad getting his 3 kids ready to go to school the other day and it was the CALMEST morning I’ve ever seen…
And I felt like 💩 after coz my mornings DEFINITELY do not look like that trying to get ONE child out the house for pre-school 😂
But again, that was just the highlights of his morning and I BET it was not that calm and stress free… but you know if it was hat off to him 🫡
And professionally online, it’s so easy to compare my day 700 in business to someone else’s day 1,460 and beat myself up about why I’m where they are or achieving what they are…
Even though they’ve been running a business twice as long as me 🤡
So, let this be your reminder that not everything you see on Instagram is the real deal and we all have bad days, negative thoughts and struggles ✨
