We are absolutely delighted to announce that SUUM studio is a finalist in the 2024 Scottish Design Awards! 'Our City Chambers' a scroll-triggered 3D animated website that takes visitors on a virtual tour of Glasgow's iconic City Chambers, is up for an Interface Design Award.
‘Our City Chambers’ is an interactive online experience that uses 3D digital models and animations to help visitors explore the built heritage of Glasgow’s City Chambers, learn about social and design history and gain unique insight to spaces, details and knowledge on an accessible and interactive website.

The Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren said: “Best of luck to SUUM studio, on behalf of Glasgow City Heritage Trust, in the Scottish Design Awards finals. Their Our City Chambers website details Glasgow’s rich history, heritage and strong sense of civic pride. Bringing the City Chambers into sharp focus as a place at the heart of civic life. It gave our young people, who may not have been aware of its significance or have had the opportunity to visit, an exciting insight into Glasgow’s past, present and future, and captured their imaginations.”
Charles Turtle, Director, SUUM studio said: “We are delighted to celebrate this nomination with our team who worked tirelessly to hand craft such a rich and valuable resource for the people of Scotland. Access to public spaces and shared heritage is a great privilege we enjoy throughout the country, to help widen this access through interactive and digital design for future generations is a joy. We thank GCHT for working with us in creating this project and the team at Glasgow City Chambers for supporting its development. We are honoured to stand by the sides of our fellow nominees at this great celebration of Scottish Design. We wish everyone luck in the competition this year and look forward to the winners' announcements in June.”

Since working at SUUM, I've noticed that they don't only work in Glasgow but they also work FOR Glasgow too! Here's a previous concept design that SUUM made for the Glasgow City Council as a part of their enivornmental regeneration project. This is a concept for a small interactive installation in a city centre lane. Personally, I think a wee urban oasis like this would be awesome location to chill out in.

Next up on my exploration of SUUM's projects are the interiors, branding and experiential design that they created for a new gym space. They modelled the interior in 3D and then created a photoreal walkthrough video to allow potential members experience the space. To me, the space feels really relaxing, while also looking luxurious, premium and exclusive.
Numbers
Coming up first on my deep-dive of SUUM's content are the animated titles they made for TV special: Britain's Best Selling Toys. Turning the numbers into toys is a super fun concept alone, but their imaginative animation and character design just gives each number so much personality. (Number 5 has to be my favourite though, he's just so cute!)

Takeover incoming! Hey guys, I'm Archie and for the next three weeks I'm going to be taking control of Studio SUUM's socials. I'm really looking forward to getting behind the scenes and doing a deepdive into SUUM's extensive catalogue of content!
