Try this summer cocktail recipe at home!  

You’ll need: 

45ml
25ml Pineapple Juice 
25ml Lemon Juice 
15ml Falernum Syrup 
Prosecco top (or replace with soda water) 

Shake all but prosecco and strain over a nice cocktail glass. Top with the fizz and garnish with a pineapple slice.

This 200th anniversary bottling is said to be inspired by Cardhu’s ‘original female pioneers’, Helen and Elizabeth Cu***ng. The packaging also features an image of Helen waving a red flag.🚩 *gifted

Cardhu (then known as Cardow) was a farm where Helen and her husband John were making illicit whisky. Due to the location of the farm, Helen could see when the officers were coming to visit. She would cover herself in flour to make it look like she was baking to explain the smell and she’d lift a flag up for other distillers to see and prepare themselves while she was entertaining the officers.⚗️🥃

This 12yo, 40% ABV, was matured exclusively in ex-wine casks. 🍷

N: Stewed fruits, juicy raisins, red berries, brown sugar, apple peel, caramel, dry coffee cake (Tiikerikakku in Finland) 🍏🍒🍮

P: Caramel, red apple, spicy oak, hint of juniper, toffee sweetness, black pepper🪵🍎🍯

F: Cooked apples, oats 🥧🍎

I really enjoyed this even if it's a bit on the sweet side. Lovely soft mouth feel. Very approachable whisky for everyday sipping. (Sip responsibly, of course!😅)

Do you like whisky cocktails? //AD

Creation no.6 works well in mixed drinks (and on its own, of course!). It is lightly peated and made with a blend of whisky aged in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks for 9 years and Jamaican Rum casks for 10 years. 

See my previous post for full tasting notes. I did feel it could have had a bit more rum influence in there so with this cocktail I wanted to amp up the tropical notes. 🌴🍹
