I am extreeeemely lucky and proud to be this months FEATURED ARTICLE within the Westender magazine. I realise that, as much as everyone would like to, we don’t all live in Glasgow. I had a great time last Friday getting the chance to chat with Brechin High’s Reading Ambassadors Jamie and Daniel, for their in school podcast. Fantastic questions that gave me a chance to reflect and consider my writing and writing more generally with fresh perspective.
Thanks so much to Heather, for the invite, kindness and for being a champion of writing, reading and all things literary! It was very comforting to see and I feel I learned a lot.
Daniel and Jamie will be taking on a project of bringing “The Day the Sun Wouldn’t Get Out of Bed” to some local p4s and trying to build some reflections on our feelings and emotions. I can’t wait to hear about how it goes.

I am so grateful and proud to feature in the Jan/Feb feature of . The Westender is a fantastic magazine, local to us. I’m the near decade I’ve lived in Glasgow, I’ve picked it up numerous times so it is a very cool moment to actually feature in it. Thank you to Tracy Mukhurjee for the article! If you’re wanting to have a look at the article itself have an eye out when walking about the west end, they are in lots of shops and cafes, you can also skim through the online version found at www.westender magazine.com - I’m in the Jan/Feb section on page 12.
Hope everyone’s 2024 has started out ok and you’re managing to push through the cold and dark Christmas hangover. If you need something to bring a little cheer then enjoy my sausage fingers gripping the magazine!

Really excited for my penultimate market of 2023! At the great location of Cottiers and run by the fantastic . It was an absolute buzz last time I attended and im sure it will be over the next couple of nights! I’ll be there on the Friday, come down if you’re looking for a Christmas gift or something for yourself, there’s loads of great unique stuff available all by local, independent businesses.

Thank you to for such a GREAT photo and a really lovely review. “Literary gem” I will definitely take! Unless you are absolutely filled to the brim with confidence, then I think anyone that shares something creative goes through the ups and downs of thinking “yeah this is good, this is ok” to “what am I doing, why did I do this, this is Rrrrubbbish!” - personally I oscillate between the two more regularly than I would like. So I will hold onto Jordan’s beautiful words and of course Max’s appreciation of my book at the times of self doubt. Thanks again !

Is there a more fitting place for the punk that is Catherine the Cactus than a shop called Decadent Riot?! I think she’ll fit right in. So happy to be stocked in this shop on Park Road in Kelvinbridge, Glasgow. It’s such a cool gift shop that I feel a bit uncool using the word cool to describe it. Pop in to get yourself some Xmas presents or browse for yourself, my 3 wee books are there now also!

Really looking forward to being a part of the Wellbeing Fair, this Saturday in Lochwinnoch. The feel good festival has had loads of great things on since the 4th September and hopefully this weekend will be no exception. Meant to be a beautiful day as well 🌞. Can’t wait to get down there and meet come loooooovely people. Come along if you’re looking for something to do!

If you’ve got nothing to do tomorrow night, head along to “The Night Market” at Cottiers, 93-95 Hyndland Street, Glasgow from 5.30-10.30pm. There’ll be plenty of local crafters, artists, makers and movers - and food and drink as well! If you’re a verrrry organised person you could even start getting presents for that event that happens at the end of December that we can’t use the word of yet!

Really looking forward to being back up in Angus this weekend and getting along to the Montrose Air Museum who are having a big shin dig. I’m very lucky to be going along as part of . Hopefully will be a day of sunshine, smiles and sales of the perennial…book!

Very grateful to every single person that made it through the labyrinthine, lycra clad maze that was Glasgow today and got to in Finnieston. Great to get out there and chat to people, much aided by the ice breaker that was Nicole’s cool t-shirt. As you may be able to tell from our triumphant pose, Catherine the Cactus made her very first outing today and it was great to see people’s response. It has been a lot of work getting the book together and it was a proud moment to see her go out to various homes in paper bags. Verrrrrrry excited to announce the soon to arrive Catherine The Cactus!!! Oh she’s a spiky one alright and a little thorny too but she also has a whole lotta heart just waiting to be freed. Looking forward to sharing more about this wee book that has taken over my mind and thoughts over the past few months!
