SGN begin a major gas main renewal project in the Craiglockhart area on Mon 14 Oct, work is initially expected to take around 18 weeks to complete.

Work starts on Craiglockhart Drive South for around 1 week followed by 3 phases on Craiglockhart Avenue:

1 - temporary lights at Lanark Road junction, then
2 - Craiglockhart Avenue closed northbound, then
3 - temporary lights at Colinton Road junction.

This will be followed by lane closures on Colinton Road and temporary lights on Lanark Road in January.

Social Security Scotland’s Job Start Payment is £314.45 (or £503.10 if you are the parent or main carer of a child)

Job Start Payment helps with the costs of starting a new job if you
• are aged 16-24
• have been out of work and getting a qualifying benefit for 6 months

You can apply up to 6 months after the date you got offered the job.

If you are a care-leaver you can apply up to the age of 25 and only have to be getting a qualifying benefit on the day you were offered the job.

INTRODUCING!
We are very excited to welcome a new entertainment act to the Royal Mile this year for the Edinburgh Riding of the Marches on Sunday 15th September!

Wild Knights Jousting and Tournaments will be performing a Border Reiver act for audiences, bringing the story of the lawless clans who dominated the land bordering Scotland and England during the 13th to the start of the 17th Centuries.

Head to the Royal Mile for 1230hrs and enjoy a number of entertainments acts before the cavalcade of nearly 300 horses arrive.

This event is FREE to watch and perfect for all the family!
