Let’s talk about perspectives.

I was told within this last week by one longstanding client what an amazing job I was doing and how much difference I was making …. I was also told within the same week by another, how s**t my posts were that I’d done for them and that no one wanted to share them because they were so s**t. (Yet some of them had reached the highest engagement)

The positive comments I’d received had been wiped out and I was feeling pretty crap, not gonna lie.

However, within this same week, I’d had a returning customer wanting some more work done because of what I had done before for them and I’d spoken to someone who after our chat just wanted to sign up anyway for 3 months after seeing my work.

Although, I was still feeling crap.

Today is my sisters birthday. She has Down Syndrome and this time last year she couldn’t celebrate her birthday properly because she was in hospital. It had been just over 7 months since we lost our Mum and there I was wondering if I was going to lose my sister.

She is fit and well and today has had a wonderful birthday.

I am feeling happy and as if everything is awesome. ❤️❤️

This week I’ve been working on a couple of logos in addition to my longstanding social media clients. Here is one I made for Shelley - who has also got a version that can be used on white backgrounds.

The next logo I’m finishing off soon is a dog walking business logo.

This was so fun to work on! I thought I'd share the brief as well just so you can see what I worked from. I sent across a few initial designs, then played around with the colours after Holly's feedback, and voila! This is the final draft version that was sent and approved. Final versions were emailed to Holly so that they could be used for both online and print, plus a PDF with the colour and font elements in case they needed to be used elsewhere.

Is it just me or does it feel like this week has flown by?! My daughter went back to school Wednesday and so we were thrown back into the pre-Christmas hols routine but I can’t believe it’s Friday already!

Been receiving a lot of requests to like pages recently? Me too ....

Did you know it actually does more harm than good to your business page?

By inviting "all friends" to like a business page (and I don't know why FB still offers that option 🤨) your page is at risk of breaking the "spam" rules of Facebook.

How many of those few hundred people that have just liked your page will engage with your future posts? Most likely not many ... therefore the ratio of likes vs engagement will be very low ..... that's not great.

Remember when people used to buy followers/likes because they thought it was impressive to have a large follower count (despite the majority being fake profiles or from a country you'll never supply to?) Well, it's seen as a no-no because you're essentially operating your page with a low engagement rate and falsely gathering page likes - and what Facebook wants to see, is a community on your page who are genuinely interested in what you're offering - that's when the Facebook algorithm will work best for you.

That's it! I'm done on the day-to-day for the festive period! I'm back briefly between Christmas and New Year (because that's a prime time when my client's pages will be browsed!) so any urgent enquiries I can answer I'll be on it ... got to stay one step ahead hey ;)

🎄🎄Many people are looking forward to the festive break and getting some downtime out of the office. Be mindful however that many people whilst also off for the holidays will be very active on Social Media and could be using this time to browse for things that you/your business offers.

Many businesses won't be responding to comments, messages, emails etc - but at the very least I would recommend making visible your dates/times of return. 🗓️🗓️
