"Ads getting a lot of misclicks? Here are some quick hints and tips you can check on to try and avoid the dreaded misclick.

1. Check your settings ⚙️ - Display has more options on targeting than Search, so there are more segments that can be analysed to identify misclicking behaviour.

2. Check Ad placement 🖼️ - Certain sites or categories of sites will inherently have a higher propensity of misclicks due to where they display the ad, or the nature of the site. Make sure where you're advertising is suitable.

3. Demographics 🌎 - It may be that certain demographics are more likely to misclick than others, children being a key example.

4. Check ad dimensions 📐- One size doesn't fit all. Certain sizes of an ad are more frequently used as a start-up overlay on videos, which are prone to misclicks.

5. Target the right devices 📱- People with the largest screens are less likely to misclick an ad than those with limited space.

Google’s “helpful content” update has rolled out.

What does that means for your website?

• Content lacking a “human touch” will be devalued - This means creating trite content stuffed with trends and keywords for bots to find instead of providing a positive user experience, aren’t going to rank as well anymore.

• This is good news for everyone creating quality, useful content though. It doesn’t negate SEO best practices if you write for people and not for search engines.

• One bad apple can spoil the barrel – If you are inclined to ignore Google’s new rules it can affect your entire website. Including pages containing good content. Toe the line, or else.

• Be a specialist, not a generalist – It’s always a good idea to go ham on a given topic or niche to demonstrate your knowledge and usefulness to Google.

It’s early days, this update to the algorithm is still pretty new, so it’s too soon to measure the impact fully. Keep an eye on it though.

Our key takeaway is that this shouldn’t be anything new to those already writing quality content. It is just another step in the agenda that Google has been pushing for years.

From July 1st, 2023, Google will stop standard Google Analytics and ONLY support Google Analytics 4.

So, what are some of the changes GA4 brings?

1. Complete user journey tracking – GA4 will allow you to look at your audience’s entire buying journey on different platforms and devices. You can also track your audience across different domains of your website.

2. Predictive metrics – Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be a core function of GA4. “Predictive analytics” will forecast future customer data points based on years of historical statistics.

3. AI and Machine Learning – AI and ML will play a vital part with the scrapping of cookies approaching. AI and ML will analyse consumer patterns and fill in any gaps made by those who block cookies by using historical data to predict future behaviours.
