"There are dozens of reasons why one might encounter an animate skeleton, and it is pertinent that we understand how best to approach each variation.
Firstly, does the skeleton sport glowing eyes and intricately engraved runes upon their antlers? Most likely then that this is an Ivuore, a person such as you or I. They can be reasoned with, and are often largely hospitable although their forthright manner can appear a little callous.
In the absence of glowing eyes and horns, we are left with different possibilities. Perhaps this skeleton has been raised by arcane magicks. You might spot them amidst undead in earlier states of decay. These will likely act without much thought, as the techniques used to wake them are basic.
The third possibilty we should consider is spiritual resurrection, for that can result in canny foes indeed! Approach with great caution, for in most cases it is a safer play to ease the wrathful spirit than to wage war against them.
Pray it is one of these 3, for skeletons are also the workmen of The Dead God, and there are tales of Crystalline Horrors sprouting amidst ill-placed grave sites."
