🌊 Celebrate the International Whale Shark Day! 🦈

Encountering a whale shark in its natural habitat is an awe-inspiring experience. These gentle giants can grow up to 12 meters long, yet they feed primarily on tiny plankton, filtering thousands of liters of water each day. As we celebrate these incredible creatures, it's important to remember that massive tourism can threaten their survival. As always, we are responsible for ensuring our encounters are respectful, protecting their natural environments for future generations.

🦧 Happy International Orangutan Day! 🌟

Two words: kindness and intelligence!

Orangutans are the most arboreal of the great apes, spending most of their time in the rainforest canopy. With their proportionally long arms, short legs, and reddish-brown hair, they are well-adapted to their environment. Males can weigh up to 75 kg, while females average around 37 kg.

Their diet is mostly fruit, but they also enjoy vegetation, honey, insects, and more. Living over 30 years, orangutans demonstrate remarkable intelligence, from using tools to crafting intricate nests.

Sadly, deforestation is threatening their survival. Let’s protect their future!

It was considered divine and associated with Quetzalcoatl, a feathered serpent: God of life, knowledge and the winds, by pre-Columbian Mesoamerican civilizations.
