Ntarinkon Credit Union Marks 50 Years of Growth and Excellence

Bamenda, Cameroon - In a grand celebration held at the Big Mankon Cathedral Hall in Bamenda, the Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union (NtaCCUL) commemorated its Golden Jubilee on the 23rd of March 2024. The event was graced by esteemed guests including the Governor of the North West Region, the SDO for Mezam, the Board of Directors, and members of the Union.

Established in 1972 as a small discussion group with just 15 members under the leadership of Pa Elias Nde Wara, NtaCCUL has come a long way. Initially focused on weekly thrift contributions known as "njangi" and savings ranging from 5frs to 100frs, the credit union has evolved into a powerhouse with approximately 95 thousand members, with a total assets of 62.4 billion, and over 15 branches across Cameroon.

Through accreditation as an affiliate of CamCCUL in 1985 and now affiliated to Rainbow Co-operative credit union Ltd, NtaCCUL has solidified its position as the most reliable micro financial institution in Cameroon and the CEMAC sub-region. The union's commitment to innovation is evident in its digital transformation, featuring ATM/VISA card machines in all branches, an online app for mobile banking, and offline USSD services for easy access to financial transactions.

Over the years, NtaCCUL has garnered numerous prestigious awards recognizing its excellence in customer service, interest rates, resilience during crises, and digitalization efforts. The Golden Jubilee celebration was not only a time for reflection but also an occasion to honor distinguished members for their contributions to the union's growth and success.

The General Manager of NtaCCUL highlighted the institution's position as the largest credit union in Cameroon and set ambitious goals for the future, aiming to become the best in Africa within five years. With a strong foundation built on principles of integrity

The advice of a Cameroonian coach is beneficial to a footballer from the start of his career right through to the end. If you were born there, you have too many rights over your managers.

Cameroon taught me that I'm a soldier in the national team. I'm going to die with that spirit.

Cameroon has just gone through humiliation just because love for the Fatherland is not 100%. Excuse me for talking about myself.

I could play two matches on the same day for the love of our beautiful country. I did it, Roger Milla did it and François Omam Biyick did it.

Do you think Cameroon paid us more than our clubs? Not even 1/10 of what we were paid elsewhere.

You're playing with too many reserves, what are you afraid of? Dying for your country is worth more than all the money in the world. Manga Onguené broke his foot for this country, he was better than me then. He continues to respect his country in spite of everything.

The National Polytechnic University Institute Bamenda graduates the 13th and 14th combined convocation ceremony today the 15 of December 2023 at the national polytechnic university institute main campus in Bambui. with the HND, 2021/2022 the best student was Neba Queentta Nchang and in the 2022/2023 batch the best student was Carine Ejang.

in addressing the students,Dr Christopher Apana " your journey ahead will be define not by the set back you encounter but by how you rise above them". he asked them to use the knowledge acquired to tackle challenges around them, solve societal problems and be the change caterlist and nation builders our country and the world needs. at the pest at which the school is growing, they might start graduating PHD candidate in the near future if the government grants them autonomy in the near future. destroying a nation does not requires the use of atomic bombs. it only requires the lowing of the quality of education and allowing cheating in exams. He however opines a professionalization of the higher education sector will help meet contemporary needs of society",a society which he opines NPUI has been conveniently meeting demands and standards. DAMA film, the production house which invited the Nigerian actor Sylvester Madu aka Shina Rambo for the movie shoot titled "Abakwa" in Bamenda has accepted responsibility in their part of failing to put in place security in the BIG G snack Bar Restaurant at mile 3 in which the actors and other cast members where, when unidentified gun men stormed the premises on Thursday November 23, 2023 which led to the death of 4 and over 10 injured.

HRH Angafor Mombo'o III, Fon of Bambui, speaking on the occasion of the reception and opening of the newly constructed bridge linking Tubah I and Atohteshwi on the 4th of November. 2023, in the presence of the Divisional officer of Tubah, the first deputy mayor ( Aloh Nelson), some councilors of Tubah and Bambui elites who turned out massively for the event.
