The first day of school starts with a range of emotions for both the kids and parents, and even for the teachers, to be honest.
Lysan has been anxious all summer about starting school, and she starts the first day with angst and trepidation.
Why is she feeling this way? Will she overcome her fears? Has she sought help? Does she learn something about herself?

”This reminds me again why I decided to write and publish children‘s books“, she mused. The challenges of scaling in a saturated market can have disheartening moments. And so when you interact with children who share the joy and warmth from reading your books - you spark your own joy and persevere.
On May 29th, we celebrated Mt. Everest Day with our Nepali 🇳🇵 community in Bern 🇨🇭on the theme of Mountain and People. , founder and author, had the pleasure to present our three books and talk about the importance of sharing stories from other parts of the world and, more importantly, emphasising the importance for children to learn how to coexist and thrive with nature and animals sustainably.
The event was organised and hosted by His Excellency Mr Ram Prasad Subedi, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, WTO & other International Organisations & Ambassador of Nepal to Switzerland. We hope his children and family will enjoy our 📚.
It was an absolute honour to have met Susmita Maskey Niraula . From conquering the Seven Summits to transforming personal adversities into strengths, Susmita Maskey exemplifies resilience and inspiration. As the first Nepali woman to achieve this mountaineering feat, she breaks barriers and sets new heights for women worldwide. Her story of overcoming childhood trauma and advocating for the safety of children and women is a testament to her unwavering spirit and dedication. Teaching gratitude to a small child can be an excellent way to instil positive values. Here are some ways to help a child feel more thankful:
Be a Role Model: Children often learn by example, so demonstrate gratitude in your own life.
Express Gratitude: Make it a habit to express gratitude as a family during meals or bedtime.
Encourage Acts of Kindness: Teach your child to be kind and helpful, which can foster a sense of gratitude.

Despite all the noise and excitement around them, these children stayed curious and connected throughout the book reading. Our two book presenters further engaged with the children. It was an exciting experience, and we are super excited that soon, Are you a Snow Leopard? will be out in German!
Since 2011, September 22 has been the day to celebrate Rhinos and their beautiful existence. There are five species of rhino: two African – black and white rhinos – and three Asian – greater one-horned, Sumatran and Javan rhinos. Thanks to strict protection and management from Nepalese and Indian wildlife authorities, the greater one-horned rhino is well protected and is no longer on the brink of extinction.

So excited to be celebrating World Book Day Swiss International School (SIS) with children & teachers from Kindergarten and Grade 1 & 2. For sure it will be so much fun and what is more the kids will come dressed up as their favourite book characters!!
Thank you for hosting this storytelling session with and . The circle time was cozy and warm enabling more discussions with the kids.
Did you always want to be an author? Did Kanchan/Karuna always know she wanted to illustrate? Did Amir always want to own a bookstore? How did you print the book - did you copy-paste it?
Is a Snow Leopard like a White Siberian Tiger? Why is the Blue Sheep not called a blue goat? Why does the black bear have a yellow moon on its chest? Will you write a story about the Danphe (bright bird in Snow Leopard Story)? Why do we humans poach Red Pandas? Why is the yak on two legs in the picture -this makes no sense. Why do the clouds in the book look like octopuses?
The questions go on and on. This was the most fulfilling part of the week-long read-aloud we hosted . Kids thrive when they are curious and confident to ask questions and explore. It truly was an immersive read-aloud.
We facilitated our very first Experiential Learning workshop through our book “Are you a Snow Leopard?” .
The session focused on using the technique of empathising and understanding the core of what our “user” - planet, climate & biodiversity experience. By sharing this simple methodology with the teachers and change makers, we aimed to ingnite curiousity and to ask the why questions. Thisway, teachers can enable their children to think beyond the obvious.
The learning experience shared by Dr. Ghana Shyam Gurung from WWF Nepal and Tashi Sonam Lama from Red Panda Network was monumental to making this workshop a success. They shared their own life experience starting in Manag and Taplejung and their life as a conservationist.
Dr. Gurung highlighted how teachers need to be prepared themselves before telling stories of conservation in the classroom.

We are proud to spotlight our local partner, Community Action Centre - Nepal, for their incredible impact. Since its establishment in 1993, Community Action Center - Nepal (CAC-Nepal) has acted on the conviction that enhancing the spirit of people to take ownership of their own lives is paramount. CAC-Nepal has been working with Shree Judodaya Secondary School to improve access to education through various initiatives, i.e., increasing the enrollment of children in formal schools, reducing dropout of children by providing child-friendly places at the government schools in the Kathmandu Valley, and providing financial support to children who are from marginalized groups. CAC-Nepal has been supporting a group of 20 girls who come from highly impoverished and marginalized families. These girls receive financial support for their education, ensuring their overall development into well-rounded adults. JP School is a government school located in the Thamel area of the Kathmandu district. This school is one of the oldest government schools established in BS 1995 (AD 1939, 85 years old). At present, 1200 students are studying at this school. Most of the students are from the most underprivileged and needy families, such as the Dalit and Chepang communities and different ethnic groups of Nepal. Almost all the student's families migrated from 77 districts of Nepal. Through this program, CAC Nepal is firmly committed to addressing entrenched intersecting inequalities and harmful societal practices.
