Today we remember the fallen Azerbaijani soldiers who fought to liberate Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region from a 30-year-long occupation by Armenia. Despite the 4 UN Security Council resolutions against Armenian forces, there has been no real pressure put by the international community on Armenia to ensure a peaceful end to the occupation of Azerbaijan. On September 27th 2020 the Second Karabakh War broke out resulting in the end of that occupation.

Today, Azerbaijani communities around the world & in Canada commemorate the massacre. 30 years ago on this day, 613 Azerbaijani civilians were killed by the Armenian army in Khojaly, Azerbaijan. 🇦🇿

The City of Ottawa declared February 26th as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Khojaly Tragedy.
