The OYA Scale Up Immersive Media Lab returns for its third and final year. This exciting opportunity is brought to you by the OYA Black Arts Coalition, in partnership with and .

Prepare for a thrilling 5-month program, providing hands-on experience in XR (VR, AR) production! You will be joiningpart of one of three teams during this program, collaborating to bring an original interactive XR project to life.

This project is funded by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.

On March 29, the Community came together in person at the CFC for a final wrap party to celebrate all that we have accomplished together and to honour the talented, inspiring and determined team of entrepreneurs, mentors, experts, trailblazers, academics and program partners that make up our thriving community.

Guests mingled, participated in a collaborative art piece and learned How to Integrate Ancient Wisdom and Technology from guest speaker Rachael Abah!

Thank you to all who have collaborated with, and participated in, this incredible program over the last three years. We are humbled by your skills, knowledge and sheer tenacity and we look forward to future collaborations.

As a child, Keda Edwards Pierre wanted to do something many intelligent, artistic kids dream of doing; create buildings. Instead, Edwards Pierre a childhood trauma survivor navigated a career path that met her profound needs for safety, structure, answers, voice and ability to advocate for others. That path would take her from student to frontline police officer, to community liaison officer and, finally, to entrepreneur –a journey which, for her, is ultimately “true to soul” (True2Soul Network)
