"Live" Poster Series wins Graphis Gold
Throughout the ages the number four has symbolized solidity, wholeness and universality. The intersectionality of the cross moving in four directions and yet returning to a centre is an obvious metaphor. Four letter words that embody proactive intention can make a similar statement — and there are many of them — “love” “look” “feel” “fuse”. The verb “live” also has four letters and in a way embodies all of the others. The goal of this poster series was to communicate this dynamic in an abstract form. Using yellow and light blue as base colours symbolizing dynamism and optimism posters played with layered visual themes evoked by the four-letter words chosen.

"Now is the time to cheer and refresh the down-cast through the invigorating breeze of love and fellowship, and the living waters of friendliness and charity."
— Baha'u'lláh
Naw-Ruz — The Vernal Equinox — The First Day of Spring — the day millions around the world celebrate the New Year and focus on renewal. If there is anything that recent events have demonstrated to us it is that no one nation can go it alone in our de facto globalized world. We are inextricably linked to one another and it is only together that we will most effectively take on the urgent challenges facing humanity.

"LIve" is a Four-Letter Word
"Almost from prehistoric times, the number four was employed to signify what was solid, what could be touched and felt. Its relationship to the cross (four points) made it an outstanding symbol of wholeness and universality, a symbol which drew all to itself". Where lines of latitude and longitude intersect, they divide the earth into four proportions.”

“This is the power of art: The power to transcend our own self-interest, our solipsistic zoom-lens on life, and relate to the world and each other with more integrity, more curiosity, more wholeheartedness.”
— Maria Popova
“Design is thinking made visual”
— Saul Bass
“As wave is driven by wave
And each, pursued, pursues the wave ahead,
So time flies on and follows, flies, and follows,
Always, for ever and new. What was before
Is left behind; what never was is now;
And every passing moment is renewed.”
— Ovid, Metamorphoses

"In our profession we cannot be creators today, but we are seekers and callers. We shall not cease seeking for that which later may crystallize out, and calling for companions who will go with us on the hard path, who know in deep humility that everything today is nothing but the very first light of dawn, and who prepare themselves in self-forgetful surrender for the rising of the new sun. We call upon all those who believe in the future. All strong longing for the future is architecture in the making. One day there will be a world-view, and then there will also be its sign, its crystal – architecture."
