We are a collective of Asian-Canadian storytellers producing a pilot episode for our TV show, “Where Are You Really From?”

Before Jazlyn’s 18th birthday, her mother unexpectedly returns home after working abroad for most of her adolescent years. A heartwarming welcome quickly turns sour when Jazlyn is forced to plan a traditional Filipino coming-of-age ceremony and the secrets she’s hidden, and has been hidden from, begin to unravel. This 30-minute pilot episode is a family TV drama about generational divides, discovering your identity, and the unlearning that comes with all of it.
