Yesterday, we bid farewell to a cherished colleague and esteemed Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Dhaka, Dr. Zia Rahman. His warm demeanor and open-minded approach illuminated our academic journey, leaving an ineradicable mark on all who had the privilege to know him. Under his leadership, innovative initiatives flourished at FSS, enriching our academic endeavors.

Though we may have held differing views on certain issues, his steadfast dedication to progress and excellence united us all. Dr. Rahman's highly appreciated work, 'Labour Unions and Labour Movements in the Readymade Garment Industry in Bangladesh in the Era of Globalization (1980-2009),' stands as a testament to his intellectual rigor and commitment to understanding complex socio-economic dynamics.

As we reflect on his legacy, let us honor Dr. Zia Rahman's memory by continuing to foster an environment of intellectual curiosity and innovation. His sudden departure was extremely shocking, reminding us of life's fragility.
May Allah bless with the Jannah!
Your spirit will forever inspire us. 🕊️
