This week, we kick things off by discussing the Oasis comeback, we unpack the closing moments of the 2024 AFL Home & Away Season and Jake breaks the news of the “NEW” McDonalds Loose Change Menu.

All before we welcome the big Poppa Bear, Franky Mac back to the Podcast after a 3 year Hiatus, to reminisce over some of his adulthood antics, hear just how much times have changed since he was our age and he incredibly surprises us by throwing one of the best questions we’ve been asked, back at us.

And to finish off - this week we award our Everyday Hero to a previous winner, who hung up the boots and will leave our great game as one of the best all round blokes to have ever done it.

You’ll know him from being the “Liam” component of the Ben & Liam show on Triple J breakfast, Nova Breakfast and as part of the National Late Drive “Ben, Liam & Belle” show. And if you’re more of a new age hipster like Junior pretends to be, you would have most certainly seen him doing one of his many hilarious TikTok impressions & annoying his WIIIIIFE.

Last Year we were fortunate enough to chat with one of our biggest idols Matt Okine about radio, stand up comedy, and the challenges of making a TV show based on one of the most gut wrenching times of your life.

Matt told stories about the most orange vomit Matt has ever seen, how he did a charity gig for his biggest online bully and how making a tv show about an ex who cheated on you with your best mate, might actually be the best way to turn lemons into lemonade.

Few individuals have had the same impact that Matt’s work has had on us and to have had the opportunity to chat with him, is an experience the three of us won’t forget. It gives us the greatest of pleasures to welcome him to the VIPACK and present him with Cap #24!

This week we are celebrating Episode 200 of the MacPack podcast! And to celebrate we have decided to sit down and look back on some of the best bits from the past 199 EPs.

From Riley’s story about accidentally stealing drinks from Magnet house in 2021 and when a whoopie cushion nearly blew off Dad’s mates testical to Joey mistaking a stranger for a longtime friend & us sharing the hilarious tale that saw nan nearly break her nose after slipping in Joey’s vomit… this very special episode took us on a cheeky trip down memory lane - and provided us the perfect opportunity to share a couple of behind the scenes insights about some of the most loved moments from our first 200 EPs.

We’ve built EP 200 to be the perfect EP for a casual, die hard, or potentially brand new MacPack member to pick up and listen to at any point in time. This week Joey brings up his Esperance story for the third consecutive week before explaining the new tax cut rules that are all the talk across the nation, to explain to us all, what we should all expect to get back this year. Junior shares a story about the importance of hygiene practices in a sauna and we tell the tale of our international sauna pals we met in Sydney.

Plus we discuss the new rules around va**ng in Australia and voice our opinions on the new mandatory “flavors.” Jake hosts a version of “How Much Did I Pay” themed around the Olympics! And we award this week’s Everyday Hero to Bailey Banfield and his thoughtful on field celebration last week.

Thank Gawd It’s Friday!

This week we kicked things off by discussing Joey’s weekend Spa Day, his etiquette and the curly social “norms” that are present when embarking on such a setting. We debut a brand new segment “Dude Lives With A Lady” which sees Jake share his peculiar learnings from officially living with a lady for the first time! And we try the freshest Maggie Noodle flavour “Vegemite” and provide some brutally honest opinions.

Plus as we hit Round 10 on the AFL fixture - we dive back to check in on how our 3 Leg Premier, Brownlow, Rising Star bet is tracking (ps, it’s not good) and Jake awards this weeks Everyday Hero to an absolute gem of a young Ice Hockey fan who went the extra mile to assist and educate Jake during a work event over the weekend.

Please welcome our lovely mother Janine to the Podcast for our belated annual Mother’s Day EP!

This week we kicked things off by checking-in with some of the big life events that have taken place over the last 12 months and the rather big birthday Mum is set to have in a matter of weeks! We then launch into a generational version of our beloved slang game that sees Jake take on Mum try to work out the meaning of some of the hip new lingo getting thrown around on the playgrounds.

Plus Mum brings her very own Best Bro story that centers around the first time one of the boys swore in front of Nan and Joey provides us with a rather bizarre Everyday Hero that saw a very wholesome result from a hectic Japanese tv show.

This week, we were absolutely thrilled to welcome Tim Blackwell to the Podcast! 🚨

Tim’s career at NOVA stretches over 20+ years where he has played a crucial part in the success of NOVA’s consistent #1 Drive Shift rating as part of Kate, Tim & Marty & now the Rickie-Lee, Tim & Joel team. During our chat, we delved into his experiences at Nova, the biggest error he’s made on air, what it was like being the first voice ever heard on NOVA Perth and how a chat with Rhianna saw him write her off at the age of just 17! 😂

With a career at NOVA spanning over 22+ years, Tim has racked up a number of ACRA’s (Australian Commercial Radio Awards) and countless wins as the #1 Drive Show in the country - during his time working alongside Marty Sheargold and Kate Ritchie and now Joel Creasy and Rickie-Lee Coulter.

Tim’s one of the most talented, quick witted and infectious people we’ve ever had the pleasure of talking to and after having looked up to him for over a decade, we were incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to chat.

Late last year we welcomed Bruce “Hoppo” Hopkins to the Podcast!

Most would know Hoppo from his pivotal role in the hugely successful Bondi Rescue TV show. Hoppo’s presence is nothing short of awe-inspiring. His dedication to keeping beaches safe resonates with audiences of all backgrounds, his stories, insights, and passion for saving lives on Bondi Beach made for an unforgettable conversation and we were truly honored to have him as our guest.
