The White Squirrel is a student-run literary and arts organization sponsored by the University of Louisville Honors Program. We host various creative events every semester like open-mics and workshops. We also publish a literary and arts magazine every spring, which showcases the poetry, prose, art, and overall talent and creativity of UL students. Our mission is to foster creativity, wisdom, and

Hi everyone! We are beyond excited to announce that the Launch Party for Volume XX is just around the corner! 🎉 Please join us next Thursday from 5-7pm in Stricker 126, the Honors Center, to celebrate the amazing pieces in our magazine, as well as the dedicated team that was responsible for putting the magazine together. This magazine isn't possible without a creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic team, so if you want to be a part of it, please fill out the Google Forms in our Linktree, which can be found in our Instagram bio! We really need more submissions if we're going to publish an issue next semester!!

Come celebrate arts and literature with us! We will have cupcakes, apple cider, hot chocolate, literary activities, and art activities! Check out our other posts about the party! We can't wait to see you!

If you are interested, even in the slightest, in creative writing, art, publishing, magazine design, and/or social media outreach, please attend our first meeting of the year. No prior experience necessary! We need to build up a team, and we have open officer positions. Spread the word, and we look forward to seeing you!

Our Story

The White Squirrel is the University of Louisville Honors Program’s literary and arts magazine, which publishes and showcases the poetry, prose, art, and overall talent and creativity of the students within the University and Louisville community. The White Squirrel is also an organization of students that work to publish the magazine and extend their passion for the arts and literature to the community around them. Each semester, we host various events, including open-mics, that foster the creativity within the community, as well as publish a print edition each spring. Have questions, or want to submit?
