Stabbing Frankston
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident in Frankston last night (13 March).
Emergency services were called to a restaurant on Nepean Highway around 1am and located a man with a serious laceration to his head.
The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing.

Ascot Vale
Police and emergency services responded to a unit fire in Ascot Vale on Friday morning (12 March).
It is believed the fire started in a unit at the Churchill Avenue apartment complex just after 4am.
All of the occupants were evacuated safely from the building which suffered significant damage during the incident.
The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious at this stage.
Appeal for witnesses following South Melbourne crash
Prahran Highway Patrol officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a single vehicle crash in South Melbourne tonight.
It is believed a 2002 white Ford transit van was travelling north along Kings Way, near the Albert Road intersection, about 6.15pm when the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
The driver, a man who is yet to be formally identified, was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be removed by emergency services.
He was later transported to hospital with life-threatening-injuries.
Investigators are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the incident, witnessed the crash or with dashcam footage from the scene.
Police investigate CBD stabbings
Detectives from the Gang Crime Squad are investigating after nine people were stabbed in the CBD overnight.
Police were flagged down by a 19-year-old Dandenong North man who had walked to Southern Cross Station around 2.20am.
The man told police he had been at a party at a Spencer Street address when a fight broke out and he sustained several stab wounds to the upper body.
He was conveyed to hospital in a critical condition where he remains.
A number of other males sustained non-life-threatening stab wounds, including a 19-year-old Langwarrin man and a 20-year-old Berwick man.
They presented at a nearby hospital about 3.50am.
Two 17-year-olds from Truganina and a 17-year-old from South Melbourne presented at a hospital in Werribee with non-life-threatening stab wounds.
A further three victims presented at a hospital in Fitzroy about 2.45am
All aged 19 from Wollert, Truganina and Lalor also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The trio subsequently discharged themselves from hospital.
It is believed that all nine males sustained the injuries at the Spencer Street address.
Police and Major Crime Scene Investigators are continuing to examine the scene and are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

Approx 25 people have entered a storm drain outside a McDonald's restaurant on Elizabeth St. The crowd have made there way through the underground drain system and surfaced at an opening in the Yarra, requiring assistance from Police to exit the water.
More than 100 firefighters respond to factory fires in Cheltenham
More than 100 FRV firefighters are responding to two adjoining factory fires in Cheltenham.
A caller to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire just after 12.40am and crews arrived at the Age Street Street scene within six minutes.
Upon arrival, crews found the fire fully involved, at a size of 60 metres by 60 metres, with some of the external walls collapsing.
Crews immediately escalated the response.
Crews used multiple appliances to attack the fire, including aerial appliances to attack the fire from above.
Hazmat units are also on scene and drones have been deployed to get a full view of the fire through thermal imaging.
CFA firefighters also supported the response to the fire.
SES, Victoria Police and power companies supported FRV at the scene.
The Environment Protection Authority has been notified of the event.
An advice message has been being issued for Bentleigh East, Cheltenham, Clarinda, Heatherton, Highett, Moorabbin, Moorabbin East and Oakleigh South.
Smoke will be visible from nearby roads and communities.
There is currently no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.

Firefighters stopped the fire from spreading to other adjoining buildings, bringing the fire under control just after 3.50am.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Carrum Downs
Police attended a factory fire in Carrum Downs overnight following reports of the fire in Concord Crescent about 11.30pm. At this stage the circumstances surrounding the fire are still be established. A crime scene has been set up and it is expected detectives along with fire investigators and an arson chemist will attend the scene in the morning.
Three arrested following Melbourne stabbing
Police have arrested three youths following an alleged stabbing in Melbourne this evening.
Investigators have been told there was an altercation between a group of people on Elizabeth Street about 9.20pm.
A man, believed to be in his 40s, was stabbed several times.
He suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police quickly attended the scene and arrested two 15-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy near William Street.
They are currently assisting police with their enquires.
Driver has lucky escape in Toorak
A driver has had a lucky escape after he lost control of his vehicle and landed wedged up against a tree on the edge of the Yarra River this morning.
It is believed the 21-year-old Balaclava man was travelling along Alexandra Avenue in Toorak about 1.45am when he lost control.
His vehicle, a black Volkswagen sedan, travelled through the guard railing along the side of the road and fell about four meters before coming to rest against a tree on the edge of the Yarra River.
The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, managed to call Triple Zero with emergency services arriving a short time later and working to free the man.
He was later transported to hospital for observation.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police were called to the intersection of Swanston and Bourke Street about 8.50pm after reports that a dog was stuck under a tram. The dog was eventually freed. A man at the scene was arrested in relation to a separate ongoing investigation.

Essendon North
Police responded after a car crashed into a power pole in Essendon North on Saturday morning (30 Jan).
It’s understood a blue Ford sedan was travelling west along Keilor Road when the driver crashed into the pole near the intersection of O'Shannassy Street about 3.55am.
The power pole snapped at the bottom as a result, causing significant damage to the power lines.
The driver and sole occupant, a 21-year-old Airport West man, was trapped for some time before being removed by emergency services.
He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency services will remain in the area for some time while they work to rehabilitate the scene.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and ask anyone who witnessed it to come forward.

Man dies after failing to stop for police
Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man after he failed to stop for police and crashed in Rowville this morning.
It is understood the motorist was first spotted by police at Stud Road about 3.30am.
Police attempted to intercept the driver after it was identified the car was of interest to police in relation to an outstanding matter.
The driver sped off from police and failed to stop shortly before officers were able to deploy stop sticks on Stud Road near the intersection of Brady Road.
Police lost sight of the vehicle before officers, who were attempting to locate the vehicle and travelling south on Stud Road, saw a flash in the distance.
The car was found crashed into a tree and on fire.
Responding police pulled the driver from the burning vehicle and provided first aid.
The male driver, who hasn’t been formally identified, died at the scene.
The roads surrounding the crash have been cordoned off while detectives from MCIU process the scene.
As the death occurred following contact with police, as is standard procedure, Professional Standards Command attended the scene and will have oversight of the investigation.
A report will also be prepared for consideration of the Coroner.

Stabbing in Carlton leaves teenager in critical condition
Police are investigating a stabbing in Carlton last night that has left a teenager in a critical condition. It’s believed a 15-year-old boy was approached by a group of up to 10 youths on Cardigan Street just after 5.30pm while riding a scooter and was stabbed. One male has been arrested and is currently assisting police with their enquiries. Investigators are looking into the possibility that all parties are known to each other.
