It's National NAIDOC Week, a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Australia’s First Peoples. This year the theme is ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud’. The theme celebrates the unyielding spirit of First Peoples and invites all Australians to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced.

The Koori Curriculum has put together a fabulous list of First Nations Books to use as resources in NAIDOC Week and throughout the year. Chuffed to see 'Listen' was included.

I’ve been laying low lately, but you can find me this weekend at the market day (well, two days actually 🤪).
I’ll join over 40 makers and creators in the Gandel Atrium on 4 and 5 May.
There are sure to be some fab Mothers’ Day gifts on offer from small business owners who do a happy dance whenever you support them.

Day 2 is kicking off with a low sensory hour. I am next to who create the most marvellous miniature wheel thrown pottery! I’m in the Parkes pavilion (in between the main Budawang pavilion and the food area). And the brownies from are the absolute bomb!

It's NAIDOC Week! There's lots going on around Australia to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

I love seeing who won the NAIDOC poster competition each year. This year Bobbi Lockyer, a proud Ngarluma, Kariyarra, Nyulnyul and Yawuru artist, born and based on Kariyarra Country in Port Hedland won with her entry 'For Our Elders'.
