The making of ✨ Errol ✨

Errol, the dragon puppet, was created by Animira for Brisbane Arts Theatre’s 2016 production of ‘Guards! Guards!’ He took a total of 400 hours to construct over the course of about 6 weeks.
Fun facts!
🐉 Errol has a working smoke rig in his nose!
🐉 His large nostrils light up firey red with LEDs, via a switch accessible to the puppeteer through his head.
🐉 There is another part of his body that lights up… but you’ll have to read the book—or watch the show—to guess where (spoilers!)
🐉 His elbows have a lifelike locking mechanism.

We can produce historically accurate garments for re-enactment or film/theatre productions. This 18th century reproduction shift was entirely hand sewn using 100% linen fabric and linen thread. There is not a synthetic fibre in sight! The material was cut into pattern pieces using a simple method that was developed from extant garments. This historical method focused on fabric economy - using no more fabric than was absolutely necessary, with minimal cutting, and almost no wastage. Quite literally no wastage… the fabric selvages remain sewn into this garment! The ribbon used to fasten the sleeves is organic silk, hand dyed with natural botanicals. This shift could be sent back to the 1740s and no one would blink an eye.

Hi there, new friend! My name is Lierre and I am passionate about storytelling, self-expression, and creating things with my hands.
Since 2014, I have been designing and constructing puppets for the screen, stage, and personal use.
In 2020, I decided to extend these skills to fursuit making, after discovering how supportive, inclusive, talented, friendly, and downright awesome the fur community is.
