My Words My Tale - Short Story - Peter - Waverley Entebbe Raid

My Words My Tale has filmed a never before told short story of Peter sharing a remarkable tale whereby he stole all Waverley councils garbage trucks, on behalf of the council and with the aid of two under cover Victoria Policemen he nick-names Starsky and Hutch, to break a union stand off. We have added old articles from the Waverley Gazette and to say this was a massive issue at the time was an understatement.

Peter Seeliger takes us through a short story of how and why the Red Trail was built by a couple of neighbors living on the "Golden Mile" through the middle of Lake Mulwala in the late 1950s.
This trail starts from straight outside his family home and out into what is called the "Second Lake" near Chinamen's Island.

Was it created by this close knit group of neighbors to head up to Bundalong or Ski-Land for parties, to find flatter water, or to get to the Yarrawonga Foreshore ?

What we do know is that this short cut, the Red Trail, is still widely used today, either by the Paradise Queen, Friends of the Paddle Steamer Cumberoona, fishermen, jet skiers and boats of all shapes and sizes...and is a small part of Yarrawonga and Mulwala's history.
