I've had the opportunity to test out shooting panoramas with the Nodal Ninja Mini over the past week, and for me, it's been quite a learning curve!
I'd like to clarify that statement: the NNM is a beautiful piece of engineering, and it comes beautifully presented in its little hard case. After following the assembly video, it was all complete and ready to use in less than 5 minutes. So no issues with the mini, oh aside from the fact that I stripped the Allen screw on one of the components 🙁 Don't over-tighten!
For me, the learning curve came with using the mobile device and the image capture workflow and subsequent processing. I must admit that I'm a novice regarding advanced image capture on mobile devices. To date, it's all been point-and-click!
I have two mobile devices: a Pixel 6 and an iPhone 11 Pro. I also have a Bluetooth remote with my Richo Theta X that I wanted to use with the mobile devices.
I'm going to post some more details in a dedicated blog post on my website, but for now, the sample I've uploaded was shot with the following specifications and settings:
iPhone 11 Pro
ProCamera 17
File Format: Tiff (No Raw on the ultra-wide)
Exposure Bracketing: -3 0 +1
TR-1 Ricoh Remote Control
8 captures on 3 rows 0˚, -37.5˚, +37.5˚
Using the Ultra Wide Camera (.5): 13mm
The stitched Equirectangular size is 10,216 x 5108
Post-processing in Topaz Labs Photo Ai to remove noise and increase size to 15000 x 7500.
More samples with different settings to come.
