Francea Frances‎ posted a photo and comments to share; "Does anyone remember our own wonderful Sister Janet Mead from Adelaide with her huge hit from 1973 The Lords Prayer."
Thanks Francea, yes, best known for recording a rock version of "The Lord's Prayer". The surprise hit reached Number 3 on the Australian Chart in 1974 and Number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in the same year. The single earned her a Grammy Award nomination and Golden Gospel Award in 2004. It sold over one and a half million copies, and was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA on April 8, 1974.
Sister Janet was the second nun to have a top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart while serving as a nun. Sister Luc-Gabrielle (Jeanine Deckers) AKA Sœur Sourire and The Singing Nun, had a Number 1 pop hit in 1963 with "Dominique".
Sister Janet taught music at Saint Aloysius College where the music video for "The Lord's Prayer" was filmed. She died in 2022.

OTD: January 25, 1988. "When We Was Fab" single was released by George Harrison.

"When We Was Fab" is a song by English musician George Harrison, which he released on his 1987 album Cloud Nine. It was also issued as the second single from the album, in January 1988. The song is a nostalgic reflection on his time as a member of The Beatles. Harrison co-wrote the song with Jeff Lynne, who co-produced the "Cloud Nine" album with Harrison.

The title, "When We Was Fab," alludes to the heyday of The Beatles, and the lyrics are filled with references to that period, including mentions of iconic Beatles images and experiences. The song's sound also pays homage to the psychedelic and experimental style of The Beatles. The title is a play on words, incorporating both the colloquial "was" and the more grammatically correct "were."

The music video for "When We Was Fab" further emphasized the nostalgic theme, featuring surreal and dreamlike scenes with references to The Beatles' past. Ringo Starr, Harrison's former bandmate, appeared in the video, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere.
