I am pleased to introduce our special guest, Krisna Wati, who will be joining us today, January 11, 2025, from 1 pm to 2 pm.

Our discussion will center on language learning, a topic of particular interest in light of the recent trend among Australian schools to drop Bahasa Indonesia from their curriculum. Conversely, South Australia has seen a rise in students' enthusiasm for learning Indonesian.

What are the underlying factors contributing to this disparity, and what difficulties do Indonesian teachers encounter? Join me, Saudah Gable (Saudah Frost), on 5EBI 103.1 FM Radio Station , in Indonesian program at Radio Indonesia Adelaide as we delve into these questions with ibu Krisna Wati .

Tonight, my kitchen features barramundi infused with an array of spices, with turmeric lending its signature golden yellow hue, while lemon grass and ginger impart a distinctly Asian flavour profile. The addition of lemon basil elevates the dish's flavour.

With my garden's fresh banana leaves now ready for freezing, their notable attributes of size, flexibility, and waterproofing make them ideal for steaming food, imparting a distinct aroma and subtle sweetness. In Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, traditional cuisine is commonly served on or wrapped in banana leaves, while Indonesians also fashion them into pinchuk containers for snacks, sticky rice, and satay.

South Sulawesi is a province on the island of Sulawesi. Makasar is the capital city of South Sulawesi with population 1.7 millions, Makassar is home to 17th-centuryForth Rotterdam, a harborside Dutch colonial landmark.
South Sulawesi Province covers 46.717 square kilometers, Makassarese and Bugis are religious people, most are Muslims and regarded as very strong minded. Bugis people are known for being among the best sailors in the world and have a tradition of piracy. The Bugis, Bajau, Butonese and Makassarese have traded with neighboring countries, most notably with the Australian Abiogenies for hundreds of years.
Food
South Sulawesi food includes fresh seafood, Chinese food and coto makasar. For dessert pisang epe is very popular ( flattened banana with palm sugar sauce, usually mixed with jack fruit or durian).
There are more interesting info about Makassar so listen again to Radio Indonnesia Adelaide program edition August 17, 2024 at the link https://5ebi.com.au/program/indonesian/
