Heartiest welcome to Neelam Gupta “Nilashri” presenting her debut show on Radio Adelaide’s Priyabharati Hindi broadcasts this Sunday afternoon. She talks on several themes including the practice of meditation as a way to inner harmony. And she shares information on the super festivals of Adelaide Fringe and Indian Mela of 2024. She loves the colour and buzz and aroma of these festivals and encourages her listeners to savour the sights and sounds and connect with people.

What is common between Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi (1828 – 1858) and film music director Salil Chowdhary (1925 – 1995)? ........ It’s the birthdate they share, 19th of November. I pay tributes to both, the brave warrior and the star musician, respectively with a few verses of the epic poem “KHOOB LADI MARDANI” and a selection of Salilji’s memorable melodies. And as summer is at our doors, there’s also some fun facts about the sun that you may not have known about. Our fundraiser is only two weeks away and we’re excited to announce our mascot and theme for this year... launching the next generation!

Everyone who subscribes and donates during Radiothon will contribute to our goal of attracting and training-up new volunteers, providing ongoing support and training opportunities to our current broadcasters, and building a strong, thriving community of diverse people for years to come.
