Our Story
Monocle is a creative firm that operates as a full service design, media, advertising, and production company. Our core purpose as a company is to create industry leading quality while providing clients with the intimacy and personal touch of a small firm. We strive to establish lasting client relationships built on understanding, not only their wants and needs, but who our clients are as people. We, at monocle, take that understanding and use it to create products that reflect the backstory, passion, and hopes that our clients put into their business.
In 2014, Two friends ,Javier Rubio and Vincent Dejesus unknowingly sparked the three year journey that lead to the establishment of Monocle. Javier was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Raised around the arts, his love for filmmaking and production was established at a young age by His mother and father, both prominent members of the film industry in Puerto Rico. When he was 19 years old Javier uprooted himself and moved to Texas in order to further the pursuit of his dream. 8,400 miles away Vincent was born in Seoul, South Korea on a U.S. Military base. With a father in the U.S. Army, he was brought up in the traditional military life and always expected to follow in his father’s footsteps. Settling in San Antonio, Vincent pursued higher education with a main focus in the Air Force R.O.T.C program but ultimately craved a more creative challenge and redirected His focus towards his childhood dream of filmmaking. Javier and Vincent’s shared dream was discovered during a chance conversation in which Vincent mentioned his need for a new camera. It was this conversation that aligned their passion and Vincent began working with Javier on his current film project, Grief:Acceptance. Since that initial film project Javier and Vincent have continued to express their creativity and passion evolving what was once just a dream into a full service creative firm that allows others to pursue their own dreams.
